With all due respect for this great talent, outsprinting Greipel once and winning a few January stages against bigger names does not make him the best sprinter in the world. Obviously he is really fast, but he still has everything to prove this year. Assuming Kittel will do le Tour, he'll get his chance at Giro and/or Vuelta. Then we will see what he's really worth.
He is not the best sprinter in the world but either he or Ewan will be one day and probably sooner than later, bar injuries. The writing is on the wall.

Kittel Giro and Tour this year. Gaviria will do mostly track racing.

Ewan will never be one of the very best in a flat sprint. He admitted this. He will be another Matthews, possibly better.
Kiwi cycling really with some nice riders now. Bennett and Bevin already riding for WT teams while also Dion Smith is looking very promising for the future.
Haha just got to love Sagan.
Read an interview with him in the newspaper. His philosophy of life is fantastic. He really doesn't get upset with 2nd places or pressure to win certain races because he says: life is meant to be lived. carpe diem and all that jazz.
Maybe not the best attitude for a sportsman, but the perfect attitude for a human being and that's why we love him
At facebook Sagan posted:
"Cool! It was very hot today, in the end I never lost Gaviria's wheel. But today he had three gears more and eventually he did win by three bike"

Yeah he's an easy fella but we are talking San Luis. It's a preparation race, he's here to get some racing kilometers. It's far from prestige of World Championships or Champs Elysses, at the end of the year: Will it matter to him much if he won here, came 2nd or didn't even contest the sprint at all, that much?

He is still young, who knows how he'll develop (remember, Kittel was a TT beast at Ewan's age). Matthews certainly doesn't represent the limit for a guy of Ewan's potential. We're talking years of possible domination here.
