Yeah Schlieri was better but it's his favourite ski-jump, whilst Bergisel is his home ski jump. So I'm not sure if it's real improvement he made in the past days or just lucky jumps, feeding off his past excellence. Tomorrow Bergisel qualification, yeah!
I was surprised at Hauer too, but other than that, Norwegians are back to a quality of team strength and unity that is impressive. Meanwhile, us Austrians are in shambles.. It's still beyond him how two mediocre at-best jumpers like Poppinger and Fettner get selected when we have former Tournament winners (albeit in shitty form) waiting in line, who have to jump conti cup.. they may have shit form but I take a former champion any day over obscure jumpers that have never had any highlight performance. Even if it just means that we are showing off with all our winners. Fettner's one ski telemark in Val di Fiemme in 2013 WCH was awesome.
I would also have prefered Kofler over Poppinger. |

Hayböck's traning and qualification jumps bode very well for tomorrow. Look out for me on screen guys
Almost brother duel of Domen vs Peter, would have been fun to see though
Poppinger and Kofler didnt even qualify.. sigh, at least some guys of the national group managed the qualification well..

Kinda expected when Hellner and Halfvarson ain't competing. Expected Stina Nilson to be better for the womens team, Kalla is the only swede who is performing accordingly to how good she is now.

Ingvild Flugstad Østberg just beat Therese Johaug..
Thats really interesting for the rest of the womens tour. Next up is a sprint which suits Østberg much more than Johaug. Under normal circumstances Østberg should have a minute on Johaug after the Oberstdorf sprint.

Poppinger isn't suited to this large hills. He's a much better ski-flyer compared to how he does in normal and large hills.
Kofler is just... well, out of shape for two years. Schlieri, since Pointner left, has been a shadow of his former-self. He seems to have motivation but at the same time, seems out of shape, despite winning a competition in the summer. Maybe a short break could help him. |

interesting standings after the first leg...Freund much better than expected, the Austrians disappointing, Gangnes strong and Prevc from another world...amazing on point performance, there shouldn´t be any other this year than him (though I´m still hoping for Sevi)

I guess since Pointner left Schlieri is a pale shadow of his former self. He lacks the same motivation he had when he was on top of the world. Also fun fact - Pointner is now working with Vladimir Zografski out of all ski jumpers. Well, he doesn't have any particular role in the Bulgarian Ski Federation, but serves as an consultant and mentor.
As fo TdS - I've heard that FIS will limit the quotas for the bigger nations like Norway. And in the same time FIS would want to encourage the national ski federations to field more U23 skiers. |

And what about being czech. After retirements of Neumannova and Bauer, who were top of the world in their times, we have nobody to replace them, nobody.

Great atmosphere at Bergisel, second jump of Hayböck was pure collective madness.. some idiots ahead of us even started to fight each other
Prevc was amazing. Shame that Schlieri misses the second round though. He is reason why Pointner left so unfortunately he is highly unlikely coming back to help Schlierenzauer. Loved the smile Schlieri had on the table tho.

Schlierenzauer wasn't satisfied with his form and stuff, around Sochi. Also other things, like Schlieri wanted personal staff at Sochi. This, plus Pointner has a gen (sorta) that makes him easy to fall victim to depression; his daughter tried suicide cuz of that a year ago and died cause of it recently in december aas she was in coma for about a year.

What a surprise! Peter Prevc seales a victory in 4TH by win in Bischofshofen. Polish jumpers had a disastrous appearance, maybe except Stękała.
