If you compare v 1.6 with 0.8, 0.8 is definitely better. Unfortunately v 1.6 has tons of bugs and 0.8 looks more solid, although i didn't play a career with v 0.8.
Maybe you should give FDB15 a try
Played a good 30hours with the v1.6 and i have had no issues, none. No random crashes or any strange bugs. I know some people have issues but not for me, it just workds fine from the start.
If you go for the v1.6, remember you need the v1.5 first, as the 1.6 is mostly a fix for the v1.5. Not perfect but then no DB's are.
Can't think why you'd ever go for a version as old as the v0.8, as it will be missing a lot of stuff and come will a number of issues that were fixed in later versions.
As far as the FDB goes, it's very new. I'm sure it's fine technically, too early to tell how buggy it is. But the stats are just pure bananas, they are beyond weird and into the realsm of fantasy at times. No reason you couldn't try out the Daily v1.6 and the FDB and just see which you like more

I played more than 30 hours with this DB. First season in career mode was good without any issues. But in my second season the game crashed numerous times.
Beside that you can't even start a season with a custom team, because the games crashes in the first 1-2 weeks although you didn't have a single race!
You can look in the specific bug theard. There are lots of people having the same problems.
I do want to start off by saying that i appreciate all the effort put into making these DBs for us, but i must then say, i am playing on v 1.6, i have downloaded each DB in order of release, and i must say 1.6 so far has crashed the most, and, in season 4 on 13/09, the game crashes on bilbao-gaztelugatxe, and i cannot proceed with the game. I cannot play the pcm dailies, because the game crashes. What is most frustrating is all i seem to find is that i should go in and fix the stages. I dont know how to do that. I personally dont mind the stages that come with the game. Now i do like all the correct names for races, and like the added National ITTs and Road Championships, but most of all the roster, and the added custom teams that are made more realistic when sponsor changes happen i enjoy the most. I wish this would get fixed, because i have to agree, V 0.8 is the most stable one i have played, and i may have to go back to that.
