Also Moreno going to Movistar and playing the Purito-role for Valv at the ardennes, I like that signing a lot. Moreno is rather old, but hasnt shown and sign of declining so far. Along with a motivated Betancur, they have a superb team for rough one day races. |

Obviously Etixx, by replacing an aging Cav with Kittel and Gaviria, are shopping a Lidl smarter.
Just too good!
Seriously though, I'm glad for Cav and That African Team- it worked for EBH and Ciolek, and I reckon it'll work for Cav.

Confirmations came in this way, which distance Nibali by Kazakh team: As the second, in fact, would Vinokurov decided to download the Messina, urging him to find a new team for the 2016 season. |

Who has room for a top3 - top5 GC contender like Nibali, and also economy. I doubt Lampre would have the economy for him, unless he ofc. is willing to go down in salary. |

Merida can easily increase sponsorship when they get in return Nibali to ride their bikes. Plus Galbusera is so crazy about cycling and Lampre has been prominent for decades in cycling, there's no way they'll let Nibali pass if really he has a chance to sign him. Neither Merida nor Lampre are small companies and both are heavily connected to cycling, different than e.g. Belkin.
I welcome Nibali at Lampre-Merida, a team I've always liked despite its shadyness. Right now he is smashing the italian classics like only Ulissi did in previous years, and if this means he'll be racing like the "old Nibali", meaning having good shape more often than not, than this will be fun.
Additionally, hope is he gets to wear a decent NC jersesy again. That thing he is wearing right now is just hideous.

Is Nibali to Lampre confirmed?

Etixx would have been a great place for him(due to Specialized) but sadly they're already up to 30 riders.

I'd be amazed if he's going to Lampre but money wouldn't stop him from going there, riders like Nibali bring personal sponsorship plus riders of his standing also make it easier for teams to find secondary sponsors, Cavendish is a good example of both when signing on with MTN.

Thought that Lampre had their GC leader in Mejtens. Why bother signing Nibali, when you have a younger prospect? |

Because Nibali could win a GT next year, Meintjes is a talent but he's not going to be winning a GT anytime soon or even be on the podium in one

Nah, every serious GC-rider should stay out of Etixx-Lidl
Praying for this move to happen now. I have missed the Scarponi, Cunego and Simoni's of the world for a bit of time on Lampre now. |
