He is 21 and he just beat Greipel on the Tour Of Britain so it might be justified but I don't know him otherwise
Greipel did a leadout for Dubusschere and when he lost his wheel he had to sprint after having that effort. Gaviria is by far not as good as Greipel, even at this ToB...

Thus, in your opinion, Van Avermaet should have better cobble statistics than Cancellara and Boonen, just because he's performed better than them in 2015? |

Of the main riders who've ridden the Vuelta and after taking into consideration Tour de France fatigue this is what I'm going with:
Mtn stat first and TT second.
Nairo Quintana 83 73
Fabio Aru 81 72
Mikel Landa 81 65
Alejandro Valverde 81 74
Rafal Majka 80 72
Joaquim Rodriguez 79/80 66 (Superior hill stat increases his mtn ability)
Tom Dumoulin 78 80
Esteban Chaves 78 70
Mikel Nieve 77 64
Daniel Moreno 77 66 |

Your point is 100% true. So my comment is not related to that:
But yes, I think GVA might deserve better cobbles than Canc and Boonen. Though this is just my personal opinion, I think Greg is now in his top years and the two oldies aren't that good anymore.
Though Boonen is free to prove me wrong and take a 4th Ronde Van Vlaanderen next season |

The only issue I've got is with Purito as he's been worsening in his mtn stat gradually and after the tour despite winning a stage he was a good 79, but has ridden inspired at times here. Thinking that 79 is still good for him because of his great hill stat, but an increase upto 80 wouldn't be bad either. |

In game GVA has a higher cobble stat than Boonen anyway largely because Boonen has been pretty inactive over the last few years, GVA is without doubt a great 81 cobble man despite the fact he never wins anything on cobbles. In fact in game (my game) he never wins any of the big cobble races so that's pretty realistic and wastes a lot of energy putting in silly attacks too early. |

Cancellara? No, the same reason as Kittel.
Boonen? Yes, the same reason as Cavendish.

Yes the mountain and fighting stats of those two riders are really bad.
I'm also interested in what stat improvements Ewan and Gaviria are going to get as well. |
