Is Retschke any good in your save game?
I used to play a lot with him several years ago and he won a couple of German mountain championships in real. So I was a bit surprised to see him involved in a sprint. |

He is an alright sprinter, on paper.
But as mentioned here, he is a bit of a breakaway beast. 1 Giro stage win, 2 Vuelta stage wins and a 2nd place in a Tour stage - all from breaks. So unusual to see him challenging in a bunch sprint actually.

Wow. He is pretty good. Never had a save with him being a 70+ beast.
I used to have him like 66mo, 68hi with low 60`s in sprint.
But Ceramica really helped him in his career it seems. That`s impressive stages, he performs the best then. |

Well I'd be surprised if he started with low 60s sprint in this DB, given where he is now
Tour de Suisse, 2010 Stage 6: Ulrichen - Oberalppass
A huge amount of climbing on Stage 6
A hard day for many and Andy Schleck got his stage win, but while many lost a lot of time, Rogers kept up his strong form and only lost 8 seconds.

Tour de Suisse, 2010 Stage 7: Ambri - Bosco-Gurin
Rogers, Pliuschin, Deignan, Boasson Hagen, Nolf, Hoffman
In theory, not as hard as previous stages
Boasson Hagen and Hoffman both made the large break of the day, that still led by 4 minutes at the bottom of the climb.
Meanwhile Gesink, Schleck and Lloret were all attacking. But Rogers was struggling. Pliuschin now seems to be the stronger DFL rider, and he does his best to limit the damage.
Fortunately the attackers got slowed by catching the breakaway, only Gesink able to get a solo gap.
Rogers would not have been able to attack up to Schleck, but he doesnt need to anymore, just riding up will do.
Gesink won the stage, Rogers clung on, while Pliuschin faded at the end after some great support.

Just a weird bug I had at the time, not sure what caused it - perhaps a dodgy install when copying my PCM 07 files from one computer to another. It is fixed by the end of the game-month.

Tour de Suisse, 2010 Stage 8: Locarno - St Moritz
Rogers, Pliuschin, Deignan, Boasson Hagen, Nolf, Hoffman
Rogers under pressure now, and it is a tricky stage with quite a few big climbs - albeit an unusual flat finish.
Things all kicked off on that final climb, the Malojapass, with 4th overall Gesink (Rabobank) and 5th overall Raisin (former DFL, now Caisse d'Epargne), amongst those to take turns on the front as the peloton whittled down.
Andy Schleck did a relay too before attacking. Lloret followed so Rogers had to too, but it was a struggle.
He fought hard and managed to catch up, but had no interest in carrying on with the pace after that. While those 3 summited first, they were then joined by the super Rabobank team train of Tassinari, Karpets, Augustyn and Gesink, who dragged a few others with them.
They led all the way to the line as they then tried to set up Augustyn or Gesink for the sprint. But Rogers is right in the mix.
Rabobank, as is their nature, failed from this position of numerical advantage. And Rogers took full advantage to win the stage, and surely secure the Tour de Suisse triumph!
To complete the Rabobank fail, Tassinari dropped back to allow the 2nd group on the road - including Pliuschin to receive the same team, thus limiting their time gains on some rivals.

Rogers might not have been the strongest on every stage. But this one huge mountain ride by him and todays sprint win makes him still a deserved winner I guess.
Who the heck is Tassinari? I thought he was some Cyanide made neo pro. Then googled him and found him on PCS some kind of former talent?
Impressive Rabo train obviously. |

I had a feeling in the back of my mind that something similar had actually happened to Rabobank (or to the team post-Rabobank), not sure whether it was Paris-Nice I was vaguely thinking of, or something else!
I had assumed Tassinari was a neo pro actually, so interesting that he was not.

Given how young they were in 2007, I'm surprised they are even in the db. I'm asuming Kai Reus is preparing to win the TdF. It would be nice if you could post Rabobank's stats.
