Wind attacks?
FUNCHIS
Hey guys,
So i just picked up the game a couple of days ago and have enjoyed every aspect of it!
I have wondered if you can actually make an attack in the wind as we see it a few times in real cycling.
I havent conceeded with it, but have any of you tried?

It definitely works. Usually the number next to the windbag has to be at least 45-50, and of course there has to be crosswinds (press 'O' on your keyboard to check). If you have some good baroudeurs in a situation like that, it definitely is possible.

If you want to try it out, play some stages of the Tour of Qatar. There's almost always wind there.

It's indeed possible. In TdF I did it and Froome lost contact, unfortunately, none of the other teams worked with me, so everyone came back. But well.

I played my first stages on PCM15 few weeks ago and did a Tour de France. On the first stage in Zealand, as on the real Tour de France, there was a 45/50 kph wind and the peloton exploded in several pieces. Really interesting and really well done.

If the wind is strong enough, check the map to find a spot with crosswind. Make sure your riders are at the front before this spot, then when approaching it, let the riders with the highest flat stat relay on a high effort. Use the 4 and 6 buttons to pull the pack on the very side of the road in order to expose them all to the crosswind.
I recommend doing this towards the end of the stage because otherwise the peloton might return.

I have experienced crosswind splits multiple of times in Be a Pro mode, but it seems to be a pattern that all relevant GC riders always finish in the 1st group nonetheless.

Sometimes yes, but I had on 2 or 3 occasions a small group with not all of the GC contenders.

On Tour de France I remember to arrive with a 30 rider group, I had FDJ. I had 4 of my riders including Pinot in this group. Quintana, Froome, Mollema, and Bardet, who were then the strongest in the mountain stages in the end, all had lost more than 4 minutes

The Yellow jersey wearer usually sits in the front of the peloton so it will indeed be difficult to drop him.
Other GC contenders are definitly possible to drop, just need some luck.
