So... Where to start even.
Well at first, qualifying for EC will be difficult... As the team that was 3rd on the WC goddamnit. Iceland and Czech are leading over us, we're goddamn lucky that the EC expanded to 24 teams exactly this edition...
I mean we struggled against Kazakh.
Why rage after a stupid friendly?
Because Hiddink again showed some stupid decisions today, or stupid selections earlier...
And if we don't win vs Latvia next week(well I still assume we can win that..) it might even get very difficult to make the EC 2016.
Main cause: Hiddink is way way way waaay too PSV-minded.
He rather calls up mediocre PsV players(Narsingh, Bruma, Rekik, looking at you guys) than good other players in the Eredivisie(not just Feyenoord, also Ajax) or abroad.
Today he put Bruma at CB. Selecting him for the national team is a crime in itself, let alone actually using him. He sucked as everyone expected.
But instead, there are other guys not even selected(Douglas, Van Dijk, Van Beek in previous selections) regulary for national team that never get called up. Van Beek was injured this time, and we did have plenty of injures this time, I admit.
But Bruma is not an alternative. Never.
Rather have Veltman(who is some crappy Ajax player ) than Bruma.
Giving away that 3-1 lead is fucking stupid. Hiddink actually influenced it, if you ask me. He put Sneijder in for Clasie. Now you won't hear me say Clasie is better than Snejder. But our midfield after that, Pröpper+Wijnaldum(wow he was shit today) and Sneijder were all offensive-minded.
So yeah our midfield got overrun after that, after all, at least Clasie defended, those others meh.
Blind at LB is imo not a good idea. Alright at CVM, but in games like this, he's too slow. Watching him trying to run against Yedlin is hilarious
It would be nice if we could actually qualify for EC at least...
But Hiddink was never a good choice and almost left earlier. If we don't beat Latvia I'm pretty sure he will leave, but imo he should leave afterwards anyway.
The general opinion for the next coach after WC 2014 was to go for Koeman. The KNVB was criticized for picking Hiddink instead, and it has become clear why...
So I hope you can enjoy Elia in Feyernoord.
At least the first 5-10 games should be good. Then he will start to stagnate and struggle, sitting on the bench, not even bench and in the end only being damn expensive for a player not showing performances.
At least no longer on our pay check.
Thanks Jesley.
Boëtius(our talented LW who was a letdown lately and didn't want to renew) left us and we needed a class replacement.
I don't have much confidence in our board so I was curious what they were going to do
Elia in form is simply one of the best, if not the best, wingers in the Eredivisie, or should be.
He chose for playtime rather than money.
After all he'll earn about 700/800k(up to 1m if he does well) which is significantly lower than his previous clubs (1,8m at Bremen or so I've heard).
He has been training with a personal trainer a lot and he seems motivated at least.
Might be wishful thinking, but he should do very well. Significant difference in level between the Bundesliga and Eredivisie after all.
You should post this in any Werder forum and you would get lots of laughter.
This guy is just no professional. He is good for 5-10 games, then losing motivation and sucks a lot. He will be a pain in the ass for every club I am sure.
This guy is just thinking about money and how to drive his Lamborghini through the town.
He was no pain in the ass for FC Twente and the Dutch national team . I'm convinced that for such players it's good to return to their home country, really.
Seems to me(again, might be wishful thinking) that he changed his mindset. Why else would he do a step back in wages?
He rejected a Middle-Eastern offer where he could earn much much more(millions, I believe) but went to Feyenoord for the ''challenge'' and an attempt to get his career up and running again.
Possibly also aiming for a EC 2016 spot. (If we qualify )
In the end, the guy is still 28 and has enough talent.
Well I actually think, he just had no bigger offers.
He talks about himself as best left wing in football and then fails in Hamburg, Juventus, Bremen, Southhampton.
He just did not get a better offer in Europe than Feyernoord.
This Middle Eastern offer is only a rumour. No idea if there is any truth about this. No Werder official has ever confirmed such offer as far as I know.
I doubt that he changed his mind to be honest. He might be better in Eredivisie than in Germany or England due to the lower level. But still far from what would make him very valuable with such wage.
Oh no doubts he didn't get offers from the top leagues.
But I see many reliable sources speaking about it and I think Elia mentioned it himself as well. Just didn't want to ''disappear'' and rather resurrect his career with less wages(to be fair, he's rich anyway ).
Turns out it was even 2,8m/year at Werder?
My god no wonder you wanted to get rid of a reserves player on that wage
Anyway getting Elia for free(as in, no transfer money) is just a low risk signing that could well pay off.
This is still seen as a huge signing by the Dutch media, for Eredivisie standards that is.
We'll see how he does. I'll be the first person to remind you of this when he decides the match v Aj*x
Well. I don`t mind if he is doing good for you. I am just happy he is gone from us. Not only because of the big money, also as kind of player creating bad chemistry.

when does Feyenoord need to play against the forum rating system how would that even go, 11 feyenoord players running around trying to steall the ball from massive zabel'd icons and likes?
Ridiculous signing anyway, they've got so much money on the bank and then proceed to get Sanogo. Now a physical striker often can do well in the Eredivisie, but still, so many better options.
Hey, I don't mind.
