Transfer Season 15/16
Avin Wargunnson
I am still in shock that some people think that Porte is a GT rider. Where this comes from, your dreams? Pfft

He is one week stage racer and luxury domestique for some GT stages, not much more.
I'll be back

I'm struggling to think of a WT team that would be a worse fit for Txurruka than Orica. Basque breakaway maniac meets the dull TTT/sprint team, quite a shift from Caja Rural and Euskaltel!

They have been slowly changing that over the 2 seasons and singing Txuurka is further proof they are building a team to be more prominent in GT's

Meh they said they were doing that a while back and apart from Weening ploughing a lone furrow I haven't really noticed any change. I mean it would be nice if we started seeing them being active in the mountains instead of just giving up after the first week, it's just I don't really see them of all teams being a good fit for Txurruka. Maybe my opinion is clouded by the existence of Gerrans in this world though Pfft

Guess you have completely missed seeing the Yates boys riding the last two seasons?,Or Chavez making steady progress from that terrible injury he had? It takes time to transition if you are using young talent instead of just buying established GT riders, the two young Austalians in Power and Haig both have good potential and now the have picked up Txurruka, don't let the Gerrans cloud block out the sunlight Wink

That's an interesting one! Jul Jensen has alot of upside. I have been reading that they have a marquee signing to announce this week, don't think it's this one so curious on who it might be

Also New Zealand's Patrick Bevin has been seen training with the Tinkoff squad and according to his Avanti/Genesys/Praties team manager he has received interest from several WT teams, so looks like that squad will produce another WT rider

I've heard that the team (OGE) have been chasing more than one Spaniard (Txurruka) to replace outgoings and reinforce their roster.

Juul Jensen is a very good signing, especially for Jensen himself. Much better chances of going to the Tour now and he is very versatile in different terrains. Im pretty sure he has a lot more in him than what he has shown so far. Has the potential to be a very good dom. Smile

Did very well at the Tour of Korea up against Caleb Ewan. Deserves his chance in europe.

Also won up Arthurs Seat at Herald Sun Tour. Very good climber as well.

I would be surprised if Caja Rural would manage to keep most of their riders.
They have thirteen wins with six different riders along with a few jerseys and podiums.

He certainly isn't a sprinter but more a punchy strong rider, if he does indeed go WT he continues a trend of Tour of Tasmania winners going WT. Evans, Haas, Haig, Roberts, Porte, C.Meyer

When you can't decide between two options, flip a coin. Not because the result of the coin will choose for you, but because, in that split second before the coin lands, you'll know what side you want it to fall on.

I've done it! Won the Tour with a potential 6 climber. No long TT stage, and got towed along nicely in the TTT. To be fair, I did have to gain 8 minutes from a breakaway to do it... I don't think I'm going to be able to repeat that next season! Time to go back and aim for the mountain jersey again Smile

Great to hear! Sadly this is the wrong place for that. I would suggest posting it in a PCM15 related thread. At best, in a career related thread. Good luck with your further adventures in PCM. Wink

Navarro or Intxausti for sure if this is true.

Possibly Nieve.

Gorka Iza, Intxausti and Malori are leaving. All 3 solid, solid guys which will mean they need to bring some decent guys in and not just neo-pros (unless they believe Dayer Q is the secondcoming of Nairo..)

It won't be Navarro, the guy is past his best and unless he goes full Horner at La Vuelta I can't see him being chased by many teams. Intxausti would be a good get and I think Nieve getting away from Sky would do the guy wonders! Isn't there an unwritten rule in cycling that if you sign one Basque you must sign another one? Wink

Maybe they are looking at a couple of more Columbians? Now the Valv.Piti has his Tour podium they will build a Tour team around Quintana and he might be asking for a couple of extra from his home country. They arelosing some talent with the guys leaving but I'm not surprised Malori is leaving, he most likely wants a bigger paycheck
