Maybe this has been asked before, but I just won my first race as a pro, but it's a U23 race (first stage of the Tour d'Isard). I receive all the experience, but I don't unlock the HC races, where it still says I have to win my first race. Doesn't the U23 races count as a win? No, the problem is that you only won a stage, not the race...
Cheers. I just won the whole Tour de l'Isard, and indeed got now access to the HC races. |

I struggle with finding a tactic for TTT, Team Time Trials, in the ProCyclist mode.
I am a stage rider with about 65 in flat, but 78 in time trial. I have won the French time trial championship. I am often the best time trialist on my team.
I experience that my team run out of energy way before me. Maybe to be expected, but I am having a hard time figuring out how to get the optimal combination between my own effort and time I lead out the group, keeping my team riders from getting dropped too fast, and getting a decent time.
My team is often 45-55 seconds behind the best teams in team time trials.
Have anybody figured out how to do this best?
So far I have set the time I lead the team to maximum time and tried to adjust the effort to keep most team members. But it isn't quite working out for me.
-Should I wait to lead out until the end of the race?
-Should I set the time I lead out to the same, more or less than team mates?
-Should I just keep the settings at standard and just accept that my team is not better?
-Something else?
I hope some of you have some useful experience. Thanks in advance.
my tactic is simple and i'm not doing too bad. i just keep everybody on same effort level but put the best TT riders to take mega relays and the rest of the guys to take minimal relays |

Quick question:
I suppose this has already been asked and answered, but does anyone know for how long your career goes on? My pro cyclist is currently 36 years old, and his stats are declinging worringly rapid, and I really don't feel like keep playing if he wound up even worse than what he started as. Would quite fancy quitting at the top.
This is a very interesting question. I believe it is not the first time it has been asked but I can´t remeber to read a straight forward answer. I really hope that you rider is abble to retire sooner or later, otherwise, for me, it represents a serious flaw in this mode. What is the option? Just quit the game you have invested so much in? I guess a feeling of acoumplishness, just by retiring is a very important featur that I refuse to believe may not be available in the pro mode!

Hello again,
I just want to make sure I´m not missing something out in the negotiation matter.
So usually, once you´re negotiationg a new contract, I realised that if you ask for someting higher than what it is advised to you, the team will refuse it. Plus, once it is refused, you don´t have a chance to keep negotiating with that team. So, for example if the advise is to ask for 8000 Euros, if you ask for 8500 Euros, every team will refuse ir with the downside that negotiations are closed for the teams who just refused you. On the other side if you ask for the 8000 Euros, every single team will accept the value and it is just a matter of choosing the team you want to go to. I mean, I´m used to the previous PCM career negotiating system which was not perfect but at least you could really negotiate with sponsors. What kind of system is this in pro-mode? I really consider it very basic and it is kind of disapointing, really.
Cheers. |

In my 2 careers (sprinter and stage racer) after playing a bit, I can tell you that you can ask for a little bit more. At the first contract, may be 500 more. At the second contract, between 1500 and 2000 more.
If you have more than one team, and you choose one (because of the teammates for next season) the idea is that you offer first to other teams, and see how much is the top you can ask. I think everytime has the same top salary for you, so you can guess that top salary asking for more money to other teams, and when you have your top (i.e.: 36000 yes, 36500 no) then ask 36000 to your chosen team. |

Then I guess I was just unlucky because I did that and nobody accepted the 500 more I proposed (that minimum raise allowed). Still, you just said it right... whatever it is, it is still the same for every team (Tour / Pro or just Continental) and that is just dull in my book. Also the fact you have just one shot in terms of negotiation whit each team, makes me wonder if it is some sort of bug, because it doens´t make any sense to me, but maybe I´m just missing something out.
Cheers. |

on the other hand, at this stage, money is of no intereste whatsoever so it doesn't really matter what wages you get imho. I think this "be a pro" mode is a very good idea and this year is a kinda first try and not a bad one i think. i do hope for it to be developped much further next year though |

Indeed, don´t get me wrong. I´m not trashing it, in fact I love it! And yes, I know that wages are of no interest in the mode, still it is a question of personal prestige, the idea it gould give you that a team wants you more than another, whatever impression it would give you. I´m also concerned about the idea that your player may not retire, just loosing abilities. As anyone finished a pro-mode career in order to tell teh rest of us what we may expect near the end?
I really think this mode was a great idea, I didn´t even tried the usual carrer mode in this PCM edition (which I played exclusevily year after year) which gives a good idea of how much I´m enjoying it. Still I believe it is important to understand what could be improves, for future editions, in order to get the best experience of this simulation mode.
Cheers. |

Right thread this time haha
I've done it! Won the Tour with a potential 6 climber. No long TT stage, and got towed along nicely in the TTT. To be fair, I did have to gain 8 minutes from a breakaway to do it... I don't think I'm going to be able to repeat that next season! Time to go back and aim for the mountain jersey again
When you can't decide between two options, flip a coin. Not because the result of the coin will choose for you, but because, in that split second before the coin lands, you'll know what side you want it to fall on.

i'm wondering what the answer to this question is. I have set my difficulty level lower because my teammates where the worst of the peloton at 'extreme'.
Can someone answer the question above? |

I have not played Pro Cyclist mode yet. From reading recent posts it sounds like all the teams offer you the same money. Is that true? If so it is a shame as it removes some of the fun of choosing which team to go to. |

They do, technically. You can however negotiate with teams, ending up with some variance. Also, money means literally nothing in this mode, so it's not a big deal at all.

Indeed. It is true that the upper wage limit may differ from what it is suggested, but it is also true that once you find that limit, every team will also accept it. I would like something a little different, in the order of the sponsor negotiation in carreer mode. Nevertheless it is also true that you will probably choose your team for next year based on the riders that compose the team, and not based on wages. So, even if it is a simple system, it is not a big deal since it is not you major concern when choosing a team. I still love the mode and the idea behind it. There is only room to improve from this first year edition
Cheers. |

Can someone answer the question above? According to your experience, it seems to be applied to all the team, not only to human controlled player.
That's a pity because I was wanting to try at a harder level (on normal level it is too easy), but if it makes my team mates complete crap, it's no fun either... |

I am yet to win the Tour - just finished 3rd season. Came fifth in the Giro and won the mountain jersey. didn't qualify for the Tour, but won the Vuelta Espana and the time trial world jersey - amazing season - can't wait for next season where I will be participating in the Tour for the first time. |

I've read in another thread (someone was asking for the differences of the difficulties) that the settings adjust the stats of the other riders.
So in career mode it affects the others team (and not your riders), in be a pro it affects the other riders (and so your team as well). |
