Quintana has the fastest ever recorded time up La Toussuire.

Isn't this only the 3rd time the Tour has been up it? Think the Dauphine has also done it a couple of times
Looks like four times.

Sicard has been slowly becoming better.. He won't obviously become what was expected from him, but he's slowly improving. Last year top 15 in the Vuelta, been making some good appearences on this Tour.. He helped a lot Rolland today.
Agree! He was obviously hyped up after what he did in the under 23's and it's taken some time but he's becoming a solid pro

It would be a big comeback from Nibali, Valverde was always going to weaken as the race went on so if Nibali can recover enough he might just bag the final podium spot.

As much as I want Valverde to finally get on the podium, I actually even wouldn't be mad about that. Fully deserved and always is aggressive with his team, when Movistar are not/not are able to. Imagine this Tour without Nibali...

Boring, dumb, ride peacefully all the way to Paris.

Yup thats quite interesting, although Contador has been a shadow of his former self in this Tour. A decently amount of attacks, some of the long way out, but without any legs to back it up. Im sure Majka and Contador will try something on Froix de Fer since they dont stand a chance on Alpe anyways.

The picture had probably been different if TJ still was in it, but sustaining the same level without getting sick etc. is just part of being a great GC-rider.

To some extent, yes, I agree.

Best stage of the Tour yet. As other Valverde fans have said, I would love to see him on the podium, but if Nibali does it, its totally deserved, that was a great ride from him today, right from the first climb.

Did anyone else see when it looked like Froome swung at Valverde? What was that about?

I guess Froome didn't like Valverdes downhilling madness, with overtaking Skybots very close, just to slow down again.

Tomorrow should be huge but I probably prefer to spent it sun soaking in the water, fully expecting that Contador may or may not do some epic stuff throughout the day.

Nibali was amazing today, fully deserved win. He showed once again that he is a true racer, much like Contador. I also have huge love for Rolland and Bardet may become my future GT rider to go to once Contador retires. Bardet's downhill skillz are admirable and astonishing.
I'd love to see Valv on the podium but if Nibali makes it, it'd be really impressive after them Pyrenees stages and a testimony of his will and abilities. But of course I'll root for Piti tomorrow, he really, really has to make it this time around.

You realise of course the youngster Pierre Rolland is 28!

I think tomorrow I may or may not wake up a woman!

Yes of course, I was rooting for him ever since he endured the ramblings of Tommy V back then. It didn't all turn out since then like I wished for him but hey, he's probably more entertaining that way anywayz.
I missed a comma. It was actually meant to be like "I have huge love for Rolland, and Bardet may become my future GT rider." Scuzzi.

Re: Rolland
If Ryder Hesjedal can win a Grand Tour I'll never say never to Pierre Rolland. He can clearly ride up with the best when he is at his best but the stars would need to align to deliver the right conditions, form and race situations, it would likely need to be a Giro or Vuelta obviously.

Rolland is just pure cycling romanticism. I love everything about him!
