Boucher & Pineau Caught Napping!
FDJ.fr and particularly David Boucher and Cedric Pineau will look back on todays result and regret not countering earlier when Andres Schillinger (Bora-Argon 18) broke away to collect the eventual win.
Both the FDJ.fr riders had been sitting nicely in the Peloton and were receiving help from Lecuisinier and Le Gac, yet when it counted neither was ready to step up their effort and were caught out and left trailing, finishing well outside the top 20.

Relentless 'Reza puts down the hammer and ignites the opening stage in Catalunya
Not since 1808 and the start of the Peninsular Campaign have the French dominated Spanish soil, but today in the opening stage of this years Volta Ciclista a Catalunya, a team come of age as FDJ.fr completed a 1-2-3 finish as they dominate the 185km trek.
It would be a dream day for 27 year old Kevin Reza, more renowned for his sprint ability, yet he would break away from the Peloton in the final 2km and not face any real challenge as he took the win with a commanding 40" lead over his team-mate Geniez.
Rounding out the Top 3 would be Kenny Elissonde, who himself would take the young riders jersey as everything seemed to go the way of the French team. However for all their positives, they did have some bad luck with Henri-Pierre Lecuisinier barely completing the stage after crashing twice, before limping home over 6mins adrift.
Marc Madiot beamed "It is a great moment for us, we came here with ambitions and knew that if we cycled hard and put pressure on those who are favoured, that we could maybe get some results. Today it all fell into place and I am delighted for all the guys, but especially Kevin (Reza) as he has all the potential to be a great cyclist"
A memorable day and start to the Tour for the FDJ.fr team, with 6 stages remaining, who knows what will happen next? But for today, the French can stick out their barreled chests and once more look over Spain in dominance.

Hyper-Bole!
By: cyclingnews
The scenic route saw tough climbs, followed by quick descents as the Peloton gobbled up any breakaway attempts fairly efficiently
Slovenian speedster Grega Bole squeezed through at the finish line to win a the Classic a Corsica in beautiful conditions that really bought to life the stunning island the race was held on.
Bole would edge out a strong French challenge in the final meters, as not only did Mondory of Ag2r come on late, but also a gaggle of FDJ.fr riders who had worked themselves into contention and looked ready to dip across the line first.
However Bole had the edge and clinched the win for his CCC Sprandi team for the first time this year. Bole said "I had to take this chance, its not often you find yourself with a clear lane to the finish, so I just put down as much power as I could and found myself going forward and ahead of the rest of the guys"
With all the major teams and riders focusing on the Tour in Catalunya right now, the result will still please FDJ.fr as they bring a bit more competitiveness back into their racing after a recent lull in fortunes.

Great story with unusual layout!
Just a small correction, Grega Bole is Slovenian.

Top 5 in Corsica!
FDJ.fr could be forgiven for not focusing any attention on the days race in Corsica due to the ongoing Tour in Catalunya, however a solid squad of 8 riders would make their way to the island and put on a good effort, clinching 2 Top 5 finishes, whilst also winning the Team category.
Delage and Pichot may rue not putting their hammers down earlier as they failed to win in the sprint, but both will see their efforts as good progress, following a few disappointing setbacks earlier in the year.
