Quick question, is the fighter skill still only relevant for AI riders? Its name changed in the German version, so I just wanted to make sure they didn't change the mechanics, too.
It is relevant for the amount of flashing red bar moments. Was subject of a lot of discussion earlier, but I had Cyanide confirm that it's exactly that for players. But obviously the effect for AI is much more noticeable.

I guess he gets it right more often if legendary.
What is there to get right with a range of 3? It would be almost harder to miss than to be correct. It makes a huge difference whether a rider has potential 4 or 7. To me, it would make much more sense if the legendary scout offers the correct potential (leaving intensive scouting to find out the rider's limits), the next worse scout has a range of 2, then 3. Above 3, the scouts don't make any sense.
Maybe add a time element as well where legendary scouts are faster then regional ones.

That's good to know, thanks

thought i would share a couple of screens from my optum career
the team a he moment contary to most other people i've managed to get progression working slightly by hiring legendary coaches for each style of training
had some good result but winning amstel with scott ambrose is my personal favorite
on course for promotion at the moment just need to keep scoring points which is hard when you are only invited to very few races a season |

BMC Racing Team
To sum up what kind of force BMC is, they got Gilbert for the Ardennes, Van Avermaet for the cobble classics with strong support from Daniel Oss, a strong climber squad with Sanchez, Caruso and Atapuma, they got Van Garderen for the GC and at last Dennis/Phinney is among the best TT riders in the world.
The team also have a strong U23 team with talents across the board and generally all they need is width! I already have some plans for the transfer season and a guy like König, which can take more GC's together with Tejay is on the top of the list. I've tried to scatter the team in several directions and hopefully this will come out as an advantage.
Spoiler Giro

Currently my only results are 5th in Tour down Under with Stetina, the GC spots 2-8 in Qatar (because of the TTT) and I've just won Vuelta a Murcia with Van Garderen. This season I will mainly be playing the Ardennes, P-N like stage races, GT's and the Cobble Classics.

Is it new, that the freshness of a rider goes down so much because of training? had no races in february, but nearly no rider has full freshness, some are really bad, so you cant really race with them. and its very random. with the identical training plan, there are riders with full freshness and riders with really bad freshness. i tried to edit a bit, but every day the bad freshness returns... |

I looked at the savegame in pcm fast editor a bit. there is a value_i_fat_phy. i think this has to do with how hard a cyclist has trained. but there is no relation between this and the freshness of a rider. there are riders with a high value in this and full freshness. and there are riders with a relative low value in this which bad freshness. but there are no riders with bad freshness which has 0 in this value. so it seems there is a relation, but a really wired one... Unplayable in my point of view. You start your first race and you are as tired as after the tour. that really makes no sense. |

@Organsaft: Don't worry, it is a feature that actually makes sense and you will get used to it.
You pretty much got it right: the harder a rider trains in order to get ready for one of his goals, the less fresh he is going to be before his goal is reached. However, if you have set a race as a goal for a rider, he will start with 100 freshness. The whole point of this was that you can't win each and every race with good riders. Take John Degenkolb/Peter Sagan for example, who are great sprinters, very good on cobbles and pretty good on hills. With the old freshness system, they would be able to win/compete in all the preparation races for the cobbles + all the 1.1, 1.HC races before their actual goals (the World Tour classics). So now in order to get into top shape, their freshness randomly will drop since they train extremely hard to improve their form. That actually makes sense and is a good feature that enables mediocre riders to compete at those races that top riders would not be totally fit for. It doesn't make sense to win 40+ races with Degenkolb and Sagan, you can still easily win 20+ races with those riders though.

Just one question as I do not really understand it:
How does training work? Is there any possibility to see if a rider still has potential? For example, I do not want to waste my time on training Stybar on cobbles when he has reached his maximum yet. If anyone could help, it would be great. Thank you. |

Can you intensive-scout the riders for your main team? I don't think so, right? If not, then no. Intensive scouting is the only way to get to know how much a rider can progress in a certain area. |

I'm just completed the signings for my third season with french team Marseille-13-KTM.
We're gonna switch sponsors from next year and become E. Leclerc. We're currently a Continental team, but we should become a Pro Continental team next year.
We have a decent squad with a lot of youngsters.
However with the new sponsor we had some cash to spare... Some riders had trouble finding new teams and by august we could announce the signing of our bigges trider yet,
DIEGO ULISSI! ... 30.000 euro/month... I would say it's a bargain!

Awesome signing any rider plus 74 on both sprint and hill is big in PCT two other good ones I've seen so far are Edward Theuns and Christopher Laporte for high scoring PCT riders |

So, those who've played a longer career - it is worth having a go at a career now? Or does it need another patch to make the progression system and most other elements work well? Seeing as I'd like to play it for a few seasons progression working properly is a must.
Thinking of starting a career today, but if it's not working properly I might as well stick to Be a Pro and wait for further improvements. |

Progress isn't working properly even with legendary coaches though it does at least give some progression you still feel behind the CPU in progression |
