Wit the transfer period over, we're happy to have assembled such a nice squad. Especially happy with the amount of Argentine riders, an - of course - Richeze, which is the best rider we could possibly want to start our team with!
Now our race calendar is pending. We'll keep you updated! |

January Preview
Welcome to our January preview. The 2015 season is about to kick off, and our jersey will finally get out there in those beautiful races on the road.
While the season previews are all expecting SanCor to hit the middle of the table somewhere, we hope to do better, of course. But the main thing is bringing our message and our products to the people. So let's start with a bang!
In January, SanCor Cycling Team will appear in 3 races already!
[C2] Clasico San Cristobal
Our first race and immediately a Sponsor Objective. A win is the goal here. Thinking back on it, it might not have been that wise to expect a win from our first race, but I'm sure our riders are ready and we're not settling for anything less! Let's do it!
Leader: Gabriel Juarez
Lieutenant: Enzo Moyano
Free Role: Carlos Barredo
Domestiques: Ariel Sivori, Walter Trillini, Dario Diaz, Juan Pablo Dotti, Anibal Borrajo
[C1] Vuelta al Tachira
This South American race is yet another important race to us. There will be many sprinting chances, however we are not sending Richeze nor Andriato there. This may come as a surprise, but they were expected elsewhere, see below! Therefor our goal here is a top 10 and perhaps a stage podium! We hope to bring attacking cycling here, with a wide base strength of climbers here. Our sprinter Clavero will hope for a few top 10s.
A miracle by Rodas isn't that unrealistic to expect. Let's go, Rodas!
Leader: Julián Rodas
Lieutenant: Salvador Moreno Hernandez
Free Role: Enzo Moyano, Gabriel Juarez, Carlos Barredo
Domestique: Ariel Sivori, Walter Trillini
Sprinter: Christian Omar Clavero
[C2HC] Great Ocean Road Classic
A sprinter's classic, essential to our campaign in the Continental Division. If we ever want to promote, we need to prove our strength in races like this. We come to the start of the Great Ocean Road Classic with our finest sprinting squad.
Sprinter: Maximiliano Richeze
Lead-Out Sprinter: Rafael Andriato
Lead-Out: Lucas Sebastian Heado, Sebastian Tolosa, Pedro Herrera, Michiel Van Aelbroeck
Domestique: Dario Diaz, Alejandro Duran
We hope you see us again in these races, at the front, battling for every victory we can! |

We're only gonna meet in Cristobal, but that's just best for both parties Can't wait to see Lavoine vs Richeze in Circulo de Juarez later in the season

Rodas at Tachira again will be interesting to watch. Doubt he can repeat his 2012 performance but he does have the experience to put in good result.

Our first race was in San Cristobal.
With 7 kilometers to go, we still had two logs in the fire, with Juarez and Barredo both in the leading group of 16 riders. A win would always be hard in this field, but our first race could easily turn into a success.
You can see Juarez sprinting at the bottom of the frame. The podium was gone, but we still had a shot at a top 5!
In the end, we had to settle for a 9th place, but what a start to our season!
Barredo, after working hard for Juarez, came in 14th, completely empty but happy. And yet our biggest surprise came when Dotti came in 22 minutes later, 10 places from the last rider. Dotti - a top favorite for the last spot - will be so pleased!

Obviously, we're very proud of our team. However, we want to win, nothing less. So for our next race, we're increasing our milk dosage at breakfast. 3 glasses will now be poured for each rider. Expect great things to come! |

Given the strength of the field here, 9th and 14th is a well above par performance for your lads in Cuba - I count 15 riders with 75+ hill stat, so they must have been super-motivated for the start of the season to pick up such solid points against such opposition .

I agree with Scorchio. Good performance from your guys. At least better than I would have expected.
On the other side you need to score those points consistently if you want to reach a position as high as some of the predictions predicted you.
Spoiler Don't get me wrong. I really like your team but I can't see it finishing top 10 as some predicted. I'd have said 15.-17. is more realistic.
A Big Thank You To All MG Reporters!

Cheers guys.
My boys did well and I hope they continue to do so throughout the season.
While I agree that top 10 will be very, very hard, I still think my team is up to the task, given luck is on our side a few times.
Much will depend on Richeze and on the flat classics If we leave any points there, top 10 will be out of reach. |

Rodas had a great ride at the 2012 Tachira which you should look up. Always one of the more memorable rides in my head and since then I've enjoyed watching him. Good luck with that again.

When I got him, SN did send me a brief history with links to his exploits and I've caught up with the 2012 Tachira as well as other memorable races.
Such a great rider
Hope he can do the same for our squad! |

Goal has been a bit too ambitious for this squad (but who could have known) but the race should leave with you plenty optimism for the rest of the season still.

I look forward to coming up against you in Tachira. Will be some very good climbers there but should be a great race. Your sprinter is unlikely to get a good result against the PCT field. A top 10 on a stage would be great for him.

Shonak - Yeah, overly ambitious but like you say, we didn't have a squad yet or whatever. I had no idea I was heading towards a squad built around Richeze yet Despite missing our goal completely, we're very happy with this start!
LLS - Looking forward to it, too! We hope to see Rodas right up there with the big guys Our sprinter will have a hard time indeed, but he can still surprise a few, I'm certain of it! And our real, real sprinters will have a good time in the Great Ocean Road Classic! |

The Vuelta al Tachira is starting soon and the reporters there have not forgotten Julián Rodas, somewhat of a legend around these parts. The 33-year old Colombian climber has fond memories of the Vuelta al Tachira.
A local reporter welcomes him back...
A warm welcome back for Rodas in Tachira
The Vuelta al Tachira kicks off tomorrow. Riders like Rujano, Sella, Nazaret and Avelino enjoy massive press attention, We found Rodas sitting on a sunny terras in town, enjoying a coke. He greeted us as an old friend, with a smile and he was receptive to bring up old memories with us.
While Tony Bennett's Rags to Riches plays on the radio, we sit down next to a relaxed Julián Rodas. He enjoys life and before we get down to business, we talk about farming, auto sport, his home town and what have you. He buys us all drinks and talks with great passion about his new team, SanCor Cycling Team. He puts on his sunglasses and turns to us. "I'm sorry, you wanted an interview and I keep blabbing on. Go ahead."
Julián Rodas, tomorrow you're back in the Vuelta al Tachira. What are your goals here?
That's a tough question. We didn't come here with a clear leader and seeing the competition, it's unrealistic to go for a podium here. But we came here with a fighting squad and that's where I come in. Tachira will always be special to me, and I just hope to show myself where I can.
Can we expect another 2012 raid?
[laughs] I can only hope so. I still remember it like it was yesterday. On the seventh stage, I managed to sneak a breakaway victory and found myself in the lead. The final mountain stage saw my 2 minute lead reduced to 7 seconds. With only a hilly criterium left, I knew I had a chance to win it. But Alacorn - was it? - got the drop on me and I was completely empty. I lost almost a minute on that final day.
Yet you always say you have fond memories here.
Oh yeah, definitely. Even if I lost the race lead on that final day, I still had a pretty good time. It's probably the race that defines my career. I'm happy to be back here.
You're riding for a new team this year. SanCor Cycling Team. What's your first impression of the team?
I feel great here. It's like coming home. While the staff is very professional, everything just feels so... I don't know, homely? We're like a big family. It'll be great to finally get up the road with some of the guys, get some racing done.
Good luck, Julián. One last question. If you see you again on the podium, what's the occassion?
Well, the King of Mountain Jersey is a fantastic achievement for a rider of my status. I'd definitely sign for that.
Okay, thank you. Good luck! |

Good luck with Rodas.
Unfortunately for him though the start list seems to be too tough. Even a top25 will be hard to get.
A pity that the KoM seems to be a similar problem with most points being rewarded late on the stages.
It is a nice thing with Rodas coming back, but I think you will regret it after the race with low scoring. |

It's a tough start list indeed.
But when you underestimate Rodas, that's when he's the strongest
Either way, let's hope for a good showing. We came here as arguably the worst team, so we have nothing to lose! |

It's a big C1 race, so it could be expected
Good luck nevertheless. So far CT teams seem to have luck in C1, I wouldn't be entirely surprised to see you take one or two stage wins.
