TRANSFERS15 - CHINESE TT CHAMPION JOINS OZ
After years of declaring our interest in Haijun Ma, the Oz Cycling Project finally agreed to terms with our most favorite rivals from Metinvest. Ma has always been in love with the concept of our project and though he felt good in Ignatiev's company last year, he often expressed his true wish to join an more Asian focussed team.
The 500k worth deal won't only add some needed depth to our TTT squad, but will also see the two biggest Chinese timetrial specialists in one team now: Wen Hao Li, who gained some important experience with Wikipedia last season, will both become a key team member and true challenger for Ma.
The Oz is proud to welcome the reigning Chinese timetrial champion and would like to thank Metinvest's manager for making it happen. Cash counts, but still.

Not sure if he was worth the cash, but I prefer buying riders who I fell in love with
That said, he's imo a useful rider beside his TT skills. Opposing to other pure chronomen I got

Sorry for he price if you feel it is too much, but we both know who was first to offer those kind of money.
I would not sell him lower though, because the fact you mentioned, he is not just one trick ponny so much, as other TTists tend to. Actually only you or Bjartne had a realistic chance to get him, as i am a fan of regional focuses.

No hard feelings, mate. I wouldn't sell him for much less, so it's fine. Though it always feels better to have something like a little chat about a fee

Haijun finally makes it to the PT then after 6 years at CT/PCT level - starting off at what is now Eritel. It's probably good value for a deal made at this stage of transfers - and much more than you offered for Porte
Pozzovivvo was an awesome signing at that price, and surely Burghardt has to have one year where he properly delivers. Very interested in seeing how you approach Omloop Het Volk.

Yeah, Porte will be in good hands anyway
Omloop.... a tricky one. Made my planning today, actually. Need Burghardt to deliver, I certainly do

TRANSFERS15 - TWO MORE ADDED, FOUR LEAVING
Our transfer season is close to be finished, though we ain't done yet. Earlier today, we finally could confirm two more riders joining our team for our 2015 campaign: Andrei Grivko and Pim Ligthart. Two rather expensive signings, but both will add some needed depth on different terrains.
Grivko (picture below) was something like a late key signing in our eyes. Lacking depth in both climbing mountains and hills, the Ukrainian veteran offers a nice allround package for stage races with tougher profiles: "We're glad to have him on board. He's combination of climbing and timetrialing make him still a valuable domestique and we may also see him leading our team in a few of our HC races", said manager TS Moha in today's press release.
While Ligthart will strengthen our TT-core, we also had to let some riders go: Mark O'Brien, Alex Frame, Zhihui Jiang and Ethan Kimmince won't ride in Oz colours next year. A special thanks to O'Brien, who's been an ever reliable domestique in his debut season last year, with a 15th place at the Volta a Portugal as a quite notable result.

Yeah actually there is only one team with a Chinese main sponsor and it even asked about him. |

I love you all guys, but two of you were not bombarding me throughout the season like the other two did, so i said those two.
Grivko, hmm, how i missed you are buying him? That could be on of the ways for Ma too.

So I guess you will be winning the TTTs for sure anyway... Looked like you could be teased a bit in that aspect for quite a while. I can't keep up anymore atleast, perhaps Becherovka or Project can.

@Avin: It had to pay off, that I steadily showed my love to Ma Grivko, yeah.. Quite important signing for my squad, which lacks any depth beyond the big guns!
@SotD: Well, I certainly hope that at least those TTTs will be Oz-terrain again. Guess it will be close though. No easy action to dominate those stages like I did last year
@all: Will keep posting a few 'history' posts for riders, who left our team this year.

On the team #2014
Age | 28 (when joining the team)
Wage | 180.000€
Role | Puncheur (MO 72, HI 74, TT 78, STA 77)
Kristjan Koren joined the Oz rather late in the transfer season 2014 and quickly appeared to be a rather cheap key signing for our team. Leaving the previously relegated Heineken team, Koren offered an experienced and well rounded package of skills, which would help Oz taking some pressure (and race days) off Jack Bobridge's shoulders.
Stage races would be the main targets for the Slovenian, who became a valuable team member right from the start: a great 2nd place behind Ian Bibby at the Driedaagse De Panne (picture below) was then followed by solid performances in Bayern and Ukraine. He added another Top-10 in the Isle of Man, where our veteran Michael Rogers went for the victory.
Koren missed a few stage-wins (in TTs) quite close, but added some important points in HC-races like Czech Republic and the USA Pro Challenge. Though missing a Top-10 result there, he did well to avoid any drama. It's pretty obvious, that he was a key member of our promotion squad. It's sad to see him leaving after just one year, but he will surely be a nice fit in Gazelle's promotion hunting squad, too.

I doubt that anyone can, it seems that majority of lineup for Oz will be 77+ in TT. Btw. you forget one team that is known as decent TTT powerhouse.

Ah yes. Festina is there of course
I have desperately tried to strengthen my TTT squad, but I guess I can't. Don't know how PCM will work if you don't put 8 riders in a TTT. Because if it works fine with 7 riders, then I should do pretty well.

Not sure, how less riders will effect TTT lineups. I don't mind anyway
