Let's imagine, where are all part of the ManGame.. the Tour of America has become an irreplaceable component of the circuit, being held as the Continental Tour's very own Grand Tour! The race is going into it's 4th edition in 2014, with Franco Pellizotti, Robert Kiserlovski and Andrei Kashechkin as the past winners.

Anyway, this tough stage race used to be held in California only. A fact, that we wanted to change for next season. And here we go with a brand new route for America's biggest stage race: let us take a first look at which places we will visit in the 2015's edition.



Baltimore, Maryland - the largest city in the State of Maryland, the largest independent city in the United States, and the 26th-most populous city in the country will host the tour with a short prologue and the departure of the first road race.



Glade Hill (Catskills), New York - the Catskills offer some perfect terrain for an early hilly stage (on fifth day). Short, but steep climbs (like the hilltop finish on Glade Hill) will give us a feeling of the well known Ardennes classics and the GC-contenders a first chance to create gaps.



Mt Greylock, Massachusetts - the race will be heading for the Northeastern states, with the Mt Greylock as the first mountaintop finish (on 7th day). It's the "easiest" summit finish of all here, but it will be a first test for the premium climbers.



Mt Washington, New Hampshire - the first ten days will feature the two toughest summit finishes. The famous Mt Washington as the first of two consecutive finishing climbs featuring average slopes of 10+%! An unique landscape and thousands of spectators will make this a special day, for sure.



Mt Equinox, Vermont - The next day will feature a similar steep, but shorter climb up the Equinox. Another picturesque view awaits both the peloton and those fans, who will watch the race on the top of this brutal climb.



Beartooth Pass, Montana - After two days of rest (including a long transfer from Vermont to Montana), the race will continue with a challenging flat stage to Red Lodge, where the first of two ITTs will be kicked off the day after. The Beartooth Pass ain't too steep, but this 40km mountain timetrial will definitely make a difference for the GC.



Ephrata, Washington - The ToA will make a visit to Canada this year, featuring the first real "up and down" mountain stage (16).. the route will lead us further in the West then, featuring a hilly stage around Ephrata. Known for it's dirt roads through deserts and rocks, this 18th stage will be unique.



Mt Rainier, Washington - A partly hilly, partly flat second timetrial is then followed by the queen stage (20). A back-and-forth route, which will feature some challenging slopes up to Paradise, with a special view on the famous Mt Rainier. If there's any non-climber in the mix for the green jersey, this is his day to survive.



Ellensburg, Washington - Featured twice on the final three days (as the finish of the second ITT and the final flat stage). A circuit through this beautiful town will conclude the tour.

Stage 1 | Baltimore Prologue (6km)

Notable climbs | None

As said in the preview, the Tour of America will kick off with a prologue in Baltimore. A 6km flat circuit through the heart of this city, offering the spectators an unique experience. Nothing much to say about this stage, really.

Stage 2 | Baltimore - Philadelphia (195km)

Notable climbs | None

The tour is heading north and continues with a flat stage from Baltimore to Philadelphia. Just one minor difficulty (and the first chance to grab the KoM-shirt) just outside from Baltimore, so definitely a day made for the sprinters.

Philadelphia is a well known place for cycling events and we can expect a huge crowd cheering for the sprinters: a long finishing stretch on wide roads will be fascinating to watch, with the finish line close to the famous City Hall in Downtown Philadelphia!

Stage 3 | Bellmawr - New Jersey (194km)

Notable climbs | None

Next flat stage, this time going from Bellmawr (Philadelphia) to New Jersey. Almost the same length as the day before, the trickiest thing here may be either some crosswinds or a crit-style finishing circuit through New Jersey. Wide roads on the finishing stretch again, though.

Just like in Philadelphia, we may again expect thousands of fans watching the expected bunch sprint just by the Hudson River - with Manhattan in the background, it's also a day for stunning pictures and impressions.
