Tobias just waiting to strike here Wink

Atlantius
Thanks for all your confidence in me and Tobias.
I expect it will be hard to do much. The flat stages will go to the sprinters seeing that most of the top sprinters are here. Only one stage left to do something in the GC. We will do our best, but will have to hope that Contador/Wiggins/Schleck etc. doesn't care about the race...

Stage 3: Men Tou Gou-Young Ning Town
i1353.photobucket.com/albums/q675/AllanHG/Nordic%20Cycling%20Project/Falcon%20STARK%202013/10-10-Beijing-3_zps5cd463a6.jpg
A day for the hilly riders and a day to win the race.

i1353.photobucket.com/albums/q675/AllanHG/Nordic%20Cycling%20Project/Falcon%20STARK%202013/10-10-Beijing-31_zpsd81c9517.jpg
Matzen works hard in the early break but OmegaPharma – QuickStep is determined to keep things together for Peter Velits.
i1353.photobucket.com/albums/q675/AllanHG/Nordic%20Cycling%20Project/Falcon%20STARK%202013/10-10-Beijing-32_zps283c5ff3.jpg
Still Tabore and Failli manage to use the break as a steppingstone for the big break of the day.
Unfortunately Matzen proved to have a really bad day, so he couldn’t keep up with them on the climb.
With 53 km to go the duo has more than five minutes to the peloton.
i1353.photobucket.com/albums/q675/AllanHG/Nordic%20Cycling%20Project/Falcon%20STARK%202013/10-10-Beijing-33_zps98b33674.jpg
20 km to go and Samuel Sanchez have joined the two in front while the peloton is only just over a minute behind.
i1353.photobucket.com/albums/q675/AllanHG/Nordic%20Cycling%20Project/Falcon%20STARK%202013/10-10-Beijing-34_zps4fbf6f1a.jpg
On the final uphill section of the day three riders pulled away: Velits, Contador and Andy Schleck.
i1353.photobucket.com/albums/q675/AllanHG/Nordic%20Cycling%20Project/Falcon%20STARK%202013/10-10-Beijing-35_zpse4b60274.jpg
All Falcons with decent uphill skills managed to hit a really bad day, so everything related to the GC and this stage seems to be past for us.
i1353.photobucket.com/albums/q675/AllanHG/Nordic%20Cycling%20Project/Falcon%20STARK%202013/10-10-Beijing-36_zps10323eb0.jpg
Contador was strongest in the sprint as five other riders catch up with Schleck right on the line.

Today I guess I'll have to cheer on behalf of one of our future riders as Chris Anker Sørensen is 4th on the stage.

Stage 4: Yanguin Gui Chuan Square-Shunyi Olympic Rowing
i1353.photobucket.com/albums/q675/AllanHG/Nordic%20Cycling%20Project/Falcon%20STARK%202013/10-10-Beijing-41_zpsf1624f8a.jpg
It’s categorized as flat but the mountain halfway through the stage could make things a little more complicated…

i1353.photobucket.com/albums/q675/AllanHG/Nordic%20Cycling%20Project/Falcon%20STARK%202013/10-10-Beijing-42_zpscaa4790e.jpg
In spite of a lot of attempts no break gets going before the mountain. So Jesper Hansen attacks as soon as the incline begins.
i1353.photobucket.com/albums/q675/AllanHG/Nordic%20Cycling%20Project/Falcon%20STARK%202013/10-10-Beijing-43_zps8b4cade2.jpg
No one follows him so he reaches the summit alone 5’30’’ ahead of the peloton.
i1353.photobucket.com/albums/q675/AllanHG/Nordic%20Cycling%20Project/Falcon%20STARK%202013/10-10-Beijing-44_zpsf7bea44f.jpg
QuickStep doesn’t seem to worry too much about Jesper so with 80 km to go they have only Stybar leading the peloton while Jesper’s gap has grown to eight minutes!
i1353.photobucket.com/albums/q675/AllanHG/Nordic%20Cycling%20Project/Falcon%20STARK%202013/10-10-Beijing-45_zps5d34c04a.jpg
40 km to go and Jesper is starting to look tired. After all the flat roads are not his favourites. 6’30’’ to the peloton still so the stage win is very much within reach.
i1353.photobucket.com/albums/q675/AllanHG/Nordic%20Cycling%20Project/Falcon%20STARK%202013/10-10-Beijing-46_zps6b73fe2d.jpg
22 km and the party is over for Hansen. We knew it would be hard when no one followed on the mountain but he did well nonetheless.
In the end the sprinters get their bunch sprint.

A short mostly flat stage. Will probably be quite chaotic and end in a bunch sprint…

Early on Pelle Clapp tries to get away along with Italian legend Alessandro Petacchi.

It becomes a long-lasting break but all the time with a gap between one and two minutes.

A few other groups have more luck getting away later on. With 34 km to go four riders have just over three minutes to the peloton.

As expected they are brought back in and the teams line up for the last bunch sprint of the season.

1.4 km to go. Cavendish behind Swift and Greipel behind Henderson. Exactly side by side it looks like one final duel between two of the worlds best sprinters.

Cheering for future riders won't do, man Pfft

35th for Tobias isn't what I expected Frown

Daggen
He'll develop. It's okay for now

Jakstar22
Pretty good. Can't wait for the next season

sutty68
Pretty tough for Tobias, but he will learn from this experience Frown

PCM rulezz
Not the best results here Sad

Winners never quit, quitters never win.

It's difficult not to be happy when you're surrounded by Belgians. - Mark Cavendish

Atlantius
Ian: I had hoped for more as well, but when Contador, Schleck etc started putting the pressure on it was just too much for him Sad

Daggen: He sure will. Next season should have lots more good results for Tobias.

Jakstar: I should be able to get the last two races up tonight. Tomorrow will be "offseason" and I should be able to get the new season going during the weekend Smile

sutty: Sure was a learning experience for him...

PCM rulezz: Well, you can't win them all Wink

As last year this race will double as Finnish TT-championships. That means we will field Carlström. At the same time we will use the race to give a nice depart to the six riders who will not be riding for us next year.

Søren Nissen is the first Falcon on the route and he sets best time on the first intermediate.

That doesn’t last long though as both Martin Mortensen and Jussi Veikkanen beat him.

An emotional moment with plenty of people present to see Magnus Bäckstedt ride his last km as a professional cyclist.

Jack Bauer is looking good as he sets new best time on the intermediates and 2nd best in finish.

Our best hope for a good result today is Tobias Ludvigsson. The young Swede even manages to get provisional bets time in goal!

But there is no room for celebration with Gustav Larsson still on the course…
The Swedish champion sets best time on both intermediates and is first to beat Tobias.

Time to burn off the last bit of energy for the riders.

Curiously there’s no immediate eagerness to break away, but after 70 km Sterebo goes out with Brice Feillu, Vorobyev and Mendes.

With 50 km to go Moser and Dupont join the break and with 40 km to go they leave the break behind.

11 strong riders pull away on the last pass of the climb. No Falcon among them...

Being in the second group is not quite good enough for Hansen and Matzen so Brian sets up an attack for Jesper to counter.

A well-executed move but not strong enough to catch up with Kessiakoff who catches up with the rear group on the line.
Two Swedish victories in a row to finish the season!
