 Post Danmark Rundt Stage 5: Helsingør
Time for the GC-deciding Time-Trial. Hopefully Lasse will be able to take back the lead today.
When McDermott is off as the first Falcon, Shweizer holds the lead in goal.
Same situation when Markarskard is the first of the 36 riders within a minute of the leader on the route. The young Norwegian sprinter cannot change that.
Bodnar is the first rider to beat the German.
Naturally everyone on the route is thrilled to see former Danish champion and youth classification favourite Rasmus Quaade come in for a good time. He is four seconds slower than Bodnar though.
Gorenc sets new best time 16 seconds faster than Bodnar.
Cameron Meyer was on paper the big favourite for today, but the Australian only manage a provisional 3rd.
Michael Færk Christensen was the first rider we expected a decent TT from and he pulls of a 9th best time. Not completely what we had dreamt about, but a decent enough result for Michael.
It might sound stupid but Hushovd is actually one of the best TT’ers in top 10. He gets a provisional 10th on the stage. A good time for the big Norwegian!
On the first intermediate Del Nero is 1 second faster than Bøchman, so I told Lasse to step on it the last 6 km as he needs to win 7 seconds on the Spaniard!
When Lasse crosses the line he is provisional 3rd, a slightly disappointing result by the Danish champion!
Del Nero pulls of a time 4 seconds slower than Lasse. Enough to keep the lead with a margin of three seconds.

Stage 6: Hillerød-Frederiksberg
Final flat stage. There’s a couple of opportunities to take some bonus seconds, but it is going to be a tough nut to crack!
We kept the whole team right in the first part of the peloton to keep all breaks inside and allow Bøchman to chase the intermediate sprint.
Lasse did his part taking the sprint and the 6 seconds that come with it!
With 100 km to go Estonian veteran Janek Tombak is allowed to go in a solo break.
15 km later Lander, Baer and Müller attack hoping to join the Estonian in front.
For now it is Christina Watches – Onfone’s job to work in the peloton as we are really quite content in letting the breakers take the bonus seconds.
With 40 km to go Tombak has 1’30’’ to the chasing trio and 6 minutes to the peloton. That puts him in the provisional lead. Time for us to help with the chase.
21 km to go and Tombak is no longer a GC-danger. Time to let the ones wishing for a bunch sprint do a little work.
10 km to go and Tombak actually looks like he has a fighting chance with 40 seconds to the trio and almost two minutes to the peloton.
5 km to go and the Estonian is no longer alone.
In the end BGZ get the stage they have been chasing the whole race, and Del Nero is prevented from getting bonus seconds on the line.[/i]

The sponsors wanted us to wear the sprinters jersey for at least one day, but that failed.
I have spoken to the sponsors and they assured me that they were just as happy with a mountain jersey, team classification and GC win, so no trouble in paradise...

Exclusive Interview – ?
Here we would usually bring an interview with Nordic rider of the month, but we have not been able to get a respons from the Falcon – STARK management. In fact they have been completely silent since the interview last month.
We realize that we went over the line accusing the team of doping and would like to use the opportunity to apologize to the team and especially to Thor.

Vuelta a España Just a short summary of the status in Vuelta a Espana on the second rest day. I myself have been busy managing the team in Denmark, so I haven’t had time to give you any info before now.
Our sponsors aren’t asking too much of us in this race – they just want us to wear the mountain jersey a single day. That should be manageable. Alone against the time.
This far we have had two TT’s. Both of them won by  Fabian Cancellara. Making the sponsor happy…
By now you all know how we go by when chasing a mountain jersey and this race was no different. Kjell Carlström and Ole Haavardsholm went in the break and put the pressure on the break on the first climb of the race. Sometimes it’s fairly easy to get a happy sponsor… The Real Mountains
This edition of the Vuelta haven’t really got a lot of mountains. In total three stages.
At this moment we have had two mountain top finishes. The first one won by Rodríguez who managed to beat Antón on the line. The other one was taken by the break ( Weening) and only helped to get a few weak climbers out of the GC… Clashes of the sprinters
As Vueltas go this is probably one of the most sprinter-friendly editions ever. With names like Goss, Freire, Cavendish, Greipel, Sagan and Boasson Hagen I had expected some very close sprints, but in the end three riders were just a level above everyone else: Greipel, Boasson Hagen and Cavendish. Breschel being the most consistent in the next level.
Boasson Hagen and Greipel seems to be the fastest, but the Norwegian has a very solid lead in the points classification. I have to get him when his contract expires next season! Breaking away
This has been a decent Vuelta for the breakaways. We have been in several resulting in four top 10’s with Kjells 2nd place on stage 15 being the best. And then of course the day he had in the mountain jersey. Another very active rider in breaks is Thomas Löfkvist, who have managed to get hold of the mountain jersey. Looks like he’s already getting extra motivated by his contract with us next season…  Stage Winners
