MrUfo87: The problem with Quaade IRL is that he can't seem to be more than a CT-domestique in anything else than TT's. His 6th in the Worlds ITT should have made some more aware of his talent - as long as he learns to ride more than 60 km
I think the Dutch wasn't in shape, but they really haven't got a lot of topcontenders either. Just checked the DB and Dumoulin is one of 5 Dutch riders with 78 TT, which is the highest in the Netherlands, so it's not really that surprising that they can't do more in the TT...
Jesleyh: It would seem to complain about only getting 1-2 at the worlds
SilasColdfire: You can do a lot with simple remedies

Nice 1-2, now on to the RR. u
And the route for it is flat-ish, is it? Because then Eddy might do very, very well..

Dippofix: The RR will be up later today and is in many ways a classic WC-route with a hill to cross a lot of times and a finish right after the descent. Time will tell if the hill is too hard for Edvald to handle...

World Championships - ITT
Luxembourg
A very classic WC route with plenty of possibilities to attack and a lot of possible outcomes.
Tsatsevich is the first rider to leave the comfort of the peloton today. He is soon after joined by Ipsen, Salas and Bole.
Italy and Czech Republic take care of the chase early on.
It has some effect and after 50 km 67 riders are lost behind. Dowsett and Swift forming the rear end of the race.
Prominent names lost behind count Bardet, Matzen, Kennaugh, Fuglsang, Urán and Ciolek.
Most of them come back up including Matzen and Fuglsang, who go straight to the front of the peloton and starts pulling.
With 100 km to go it’s Italy, Czech Republic and Norway leading on in the peloton with regular reports of crashes further back in the peloton due to the wet roads.
The break has just over three minutes advantage.
The situation with 40 km to go is that Van Avermaet has 36 seconds to 15 chasers who have 38 seconds to the peloton where Italy is setting a hard pace. Lander is the only Nordic rider out front.
Edvald and Matti are both at the front when we pass the finish line going into the final two rounds on the circuit.
Former triple world champion Gilbert attacks with 22 km to go.
Moser follows so Edvald has to give it a go as well.
The only real result of the attacks are the front group being cut to 27 riders and on the downhill we send Thor to the front pacing the peloton in his last ever race as a pro cyclist.
Kreuziger, Gasparotto and Gilbert continue the attacks on the final time over the hill and Edvald fights with all he’s got to hang on.
Thanks to his great form he gets over the hill right behind Gilbert in a seven-rider front group.
The others are Kreuziger, Gasparotto, Preidler, Degenkolb and Silin.
With 2,5 km to go they are joined by larger group from behind making it 19 riders fighting for the win. Among the new arrivals are defending champion Breschel and Peter Sagan.
Edvald follows Breschels wheel into the final km, but the Dane doesn’t have much of a punch left today.
500 m. Kreuiziger is at the front, but now Boasson Hagen is getting his speed up.
With 100 m to the line it’s even between the Czech and the Norwegian.
For the first time in history we present to you a double world champion: Edvald Boasson Hagen!
