Luis Leon Sánchez: That's why they call him the boss Cool
Also it helped that neither Cavendish, Kittel or Sagan (the other three top sprinterss) showed anything with the slightest resemplance of form Wink
Willy did very well in some extremely tough competition. Now he is to prepare for teh Vuelta.

Shonak: Thanks. I almost couldn't believe my eyes when I saw Tony Martin losing the TT making 9 stage wins possible for Edvald. I've always struggled with bunch sprints, but it seems I've cracked them now Wink

9 wins... fantastic! Wink Wink

How did you win the TT.? In my experience when there is a 50 kilometre TT at the end of the race only the men up in the GC top 20 can contest it (even if they are not pure TT's). Having said that this wasn't the most difficult route I suppose.

9 wins is simply fantastic. How can you top this? Smile

The Rider: Thanks. I tjink the clue to the TT is that Edvald has a good REC. After all the top three TT'ers of the race all came in top 4.

sutty: Thanks Grin

welker: In deed!

The thread will probably be very quiet weekend in this story.

Wow. What a performance. Seems like his talent really developed properly at the team Grin

Willy with a good run, but he could've done better, I believe. But still, with EBH's performance, nobody is watching the GC Pfft

Atlantius
Ian: It did. He was a great rider when we signed him, but now we have built him tp to his full potential (and released him from leadout duties).
Wily probably would have done better if he had the full support of the team that's the risk of betting on two horses I suppose...

Great achievement from Boasson Hagen here! Grin Banana

Betting on two horses is only a bad thing when neither horse does well.
In this case, not even the Trojan horse has anything compared to our Norwegian horse Grin

Atlantius
MrUfo: Thanks. Couldn't egree more Wink

Ian: I still think Willy could have done better hadn't his mountain helpers (and sometimes himself) been forced to workon the flat. Guess we're not quite T-Mobile from the 90's Wink

Rider of the Month: Edvald Boasson Hagen, Novo Nordisk - SAS. 9 stage wins and the green jersey in the Tour gave the Norwegian his very own page in the history books.
Nordic Rider of the Month: Edvald Boasson Hagen, Novo Nordisk – SAS.

Congratulations on your place in the history books. What a show of power – how did you do that?
First of all it was a great help that the other three main sprinters Cavendish, Sagan and Kittel all seemed to have forgotten to train for the Tour. Cav wasn’t even fit enough to finish the easiest tour in many years…

Secondly we have put a lot of time an effort in to perfecting our sprint team and Willy even allowed his mountain helpers to work for me as did he himself a lot of times. In the end that probably cost him a place or two in the GC, so I am very thankful for that!

With your very own page in the big Tour de France history books what are your next goal: 10 stage wins?
Haha. I really don’t think that’s possible unless they decide to completely get rid of the mountains…

But you must have something you aim for?
Hopefully I’ll be able to get some more green jerseys in coming years, but for now I’ll first take a break and relax and then I’ll start preparing for the world championships.

Going for the double?
We’ll see, but I promise you that I won’t lose any race purpose…

Eneco Tour

We have a history of good results in this race with Bøchmans win last year the crown jewel. Bøchman won’t be here to defend the win but Ludvigsson is determined to grab the chance.

Stage 1: Amersfoort (ITT)
i1316.photobucket.com/albums/t605/Atlantius_PCM/2016%20Novo-SAS/08-06-Eneco-1-1_zps59ffe405.jpg
Tony Martin, Van Garderen and Alex Rasmussen are the top 3 names on everyone's minds today.

i1316.photobucket.com/albums/t605/Atlantius_PCM/2016%20Novo-SAS/08-06-Eneco-1-2_zps926bed9c.jpg
Alex is the first of the three on the course. He sets best time 4 seconds faster than Roux, but considering that he had a bad day and is still building form it’s doubtful that it’ll be enough to win the stage.

Ludvigsson is less than a second slower than Alex.
i1316.photobucket.com/albums/t605/Atlantius_PCM/2016%20Novo-SAS/08-06-Eneco-1-3_zps48916e3a.jpg
Rosseler is the first to clock in a time faster than our duo.
i1316.photobucket.com/albums/t605/Atlantius_PCM/2016%20Novo-SAS/08-06-Eneco-1-4_zps69d08f35.jpg
Van Garderen does what everyone expects and cuts another 2 seconds of the best time.

A classic sprint stage where we need more than just a bit of luck to do something.

i1316.photobucket.com/albums/t605/Atlantius_PCM/2016%20Novo-SAS/08-06-Eneco-2-2_zpsfc21a087.jpg

i1316.photobucket.com/albums/t605/Atlantius_PCM/2016%20Novo-SAS/08-06-Eneco-2-3_zpsae5872c4.jpg
Colnago and Santander do the work in the peloton and with 100 km to go the gap is 8 minutes, but shrinking.

60 km and 5 minutes. Karjalainen especially are putting in some massive turns in front of the group trying to make it last long enough for Kessiakoff to do something in the finale.

50 km and 4’20’’

40 km and 4’10’’
i1316.photobucket.com/albums/t605/Atlantius_PCM/2016%20Novo-SAS/08-06-Eneco-2-4_zpsd74f6142.jpg
Kessiakoff makes his move just after the 20 km mark, but it won’t do much more than getting him a bit more TV time.
i1316.photobucket.com/albums/t605/Atlantius_PCM/2016%20Novo-SAS/08-06-Eneco-2-5_zps8f078add.jpg
The finale is badly affected by a series of crashes with Kittel being the most noteworthy rider to hit the tarmac. We are not at all affected by the crashes.

Gilbert is one of the many riders caught behind and his dream of ending his career with success on home soil looks shattered.
i1316.photobucket.com/albums/t605/Atlantius_PCM/2016%20Novo-SAS/08-06-Eneco-2-6_zps634468a4.jpg

i1316.photobucket.com/albums/t605/Atlantius_PCM/2016%20Novo-SAS/08-06-Eneco-2-9_zps7e896875.jpg
Sagan takes it fairly easily.

Only 44 riders finished in the front group and the race lost three big names in Gallopin, Nerz and Betancur.
