welker: Couldn't agree more! It took a lot of work but that's ok when it finally pays off.
Marcovdw: Blue work clothes and a big smile - that's how we roll

MrUfo: All in all a good race. Urán & Co. were just to strong for us

KBC-Driedaagse De Panne-Koksijde
Time for the cobbles-guys to build that last bit of form for the Ronde and Paris – Roubaix.
We knew that it would be a tough one for us as we haven't got a rider with the profile needed to win this race, but I think we saw small improvements in the fitness over the race, which was the main purpose after all.

krisa: Pretty sure it was KBC up to 2012 where the base DB was made?
Ian: The home audience certainly got something to cheer about!
MrUfo: No KFC before after P-R (if they earn it)
sutty: I was extremely surprised that Lasse managed to hang on on the cobbled stage. Pure luck I guess...

Rider of the Month: Peter Sagan, Team Santander. With strong showings in Tirreno, Sanremo and the early cobbled classics the Slovakian was the most consistent rider this month.
Nordic Rider of the Month: Lasse Bøchman, Novo Nordisk – SAS. By stealing the victory in Tirreno - Adriatico out of a breakaway and edging out the favourites on the first stage in Catalunya Bøchman has taken yet another stop up the ladder.
Lasse Bøchman, Novo Nordisk – SAS
First of all we have to ask you one simple question – where did that Tirreno win come from?
I haven’t really got a clue to be honest. You should probably ask over on Team Santander as they practically gave it to me. With the team they had it shouldn’t have been too hard for them to have kept us within proper reach or at least challenged me on the last half of the race.
What now?
I’ll keep on being the dangerous outsider – just slightly more dangerous now I guess
We have seen a massive development from your over the last couple of years. How have you managed that?
Firstly the team staff are excellent, but perhaps the support from both the fans and especially my mom has been even more important. They have made sure that I always knew that even in the hardest times they support me.
There has been a lot of speculation as to how Novo Nordisk – SAS has managed to dominate the early season this year. How are your views on that?
Of course we have done some good riding, but I really think a lot of it is down to the competition. We have chased our chances off course, but the big names have failed to chase our breaks down one time after another. Jussi in Australian, Me in Tirreno, Jakob in Paris – Nice and Chris in Oman was all the result of bold attacks, where we dedicated ourselves to the slight chance of success.
If no one else wants to take the win we don’t mind…

It appears the management at Sharp has big ambitions in spite of lacking a sponsor next year. At least they have announced that they want to sign Mark Cavendish.
Former three-times World Champion, Ardennes-triple and Milano - Sanremo winner Philippe Gilbert has decided to end his career after this season as the age of 34.

Winning the first four WT-stage races does help on the rankings
Ronde van Vlaanderen will probably not be up this weekend

Ronde van Vlaanderen
The bookmakers have McDermott as a major favourite today, but the hills will make it hard for him. We will need to be clever to beat Boonen, Cancellara and Sagan.
The goal is a top 10.
We stay calm around the early breakaway attempts and just the same as Commonwealth Bank, Saxo Bank and Rabobank keep things under tight control.
We take charge on the first cobbled sections hoping to shake things up a bit.
Hushovd tears things apart and only 5 riders including McDermott can follow his wheel. No need to pursue it though as they only have half a minute to the now 59 rider large peloton.
With 145 km to go Vansummeren and Sulzberger decides to attack. They are both decent cobblers so Hushovd joins them.
Gallopin, Vinther and Gilbert have all lost contact with the peloton at this point.
My guys are looking strong halfway through the stage.
Hushovd is still in front with the two other 2’40’’ ahead of a 12 rider group containing Madsen, McDermott and Breschel and a further 35 seconds ahead of an additional 24 riders.
The situation forces Boonen, Cancellara and Boom to start working hard already with 120 km left of the stage.
28 riders in their group with 2 minutes to the Thor-trio.
QuickStep takes over and with 103 km to go the trio have given up and has joined the front group. 29 riders left – three of them from my team and Sagan is gone as well.
OPQS kept the pace high believing in Vanmacke, but they end up shelling him off the front group. 22 riders left with 68 km to go.
Sep Vanmacke manages to get back to the group on the descent though, so they are back in the game.
It’s hard to say if it’s a sign of weakness or just plain arrogance, but Cancellara is constantly among the last three riders in the group.
50 km to go and Gallopin has fought his way back to the front group.
Bad news with 27 km left: Sagan is back in the front group.
Final time over the cobbles and it’s time for my guys to really show themselves.
They give it all they’ve got, but Boonen manages to shake free as do van Avermaet and Pozzato.
With 4 km to go Boonen has 21 seconds to Van Avermaet and a minute to Offredo, Pozzato and Boom. Matti and Erik are in a 9-rider group half a minute behind the trio.
This is one for the Belgian history books! With 5 victories we can start calling him King Tom of Vlaanderen.
Erik did well to keep Matti in the battle for the top 10, but he just misses out in the sprint.
Hushovd fights his way to 15th place making this a day where we can be fairly proud of our effort even though we missed out on the top result.
