Good stuff Atlantius.
By the way, do you have any plans on finishing your ultimate GT showdown story? I loved reading that and I really hope it will continue one day

Marcovdw: Thanks, wonderful pic
ShortsNL: Thanks. I still have the save and plan to pick it up to get it finished. Some of the classifications started acting weird so I lost a bit of motivation when struggling with the DB, but I think I'll continue as I believe it's only gonna affect the low end of the classifications (I hope). Apparently the numbers got too big for the DB...
I'll be back on some proper internet Wednesday, so I'll post San Sebastian then

Clásica San Sebastian
Last year Chris Anker took a highly surprising 6th place. He is back for more accompagnied by strong riders such as Löfkvist and Breschel.
Right from the start Euskaltel, Nissan and Liquigas agreed to make sure nothing with the slightest resemblance to a breakaway would make it today.
Suddenly they allow a group of six strong riders a gap of as much as 3’45’’ at the second crossing of Jaizkabel.
The break is caught right at the 20 km mark, but Gerrans gives it another go.
Kolobnev counters and ends up being the last of the breakaway still ahead.
On a small hill 12 km from the line Betacur attacks followed by Löfkvist and Breschel and several others.
6 km to the line and it looks like the victory will be between Antón, Betancur and last years winner Cunego, who are 30 seconds ahead of the second group.
Breschel is right behind Txurruka when the sprint sets in. Turns out that was probably the wrong place to be today…
Nevertheless he gives it his all on the final km hoping for at least a top 10.
Cunego just holds on to make it two in a road, while Matti takes a good 8th.
A strong result considering he’s not supposed to peak until a month from now!
Also nice to see our Vuelta captains finish in the front group.

Ian: Thanks. I just hope Matti can keep building on the form all the way to the World Championships.
sutty: A very good top 10 in deed. Perhaps I should try getting him in top shape for this race one of the coming years?

Miguel: It most certainly is. Guess Cunego is just too strong in this race I guess!

Such a close sprint, only a couple of bike lengths from the win

Marcovdw: You can't have both me and a Dutch team winning
Miguel: Top 5 is very fine. Kristoff is not a top-sprinter and this was more of a warm-up race than anything else.
LLS: Me too
sutty: Yet Cavendish was never really threatened. In spite of a ruined leadout...

Vuelta a España
I will only be following this years Vuelta in glimpses since they have decided on a rerun of last years route.
The route contains
7 Mountain Stages (5 Summit finishes)
7 Hilly stages (2 uphill finishes)
2 Flat TT’s
1 Mountain TT
4 Flat stages
That means the victory will most likely go to the strongest climber.
Chris Anker Sørensen has this as his main season goal while both Thomas Löfkvist and Jesper Hansen raced a lot early on the season as well.
The main names they will have to watch on the climbs are the likes of Antón, Urán, Poels and Quintana (who is also the major favourite for the youth jersey). Below those four there is a lot of riders on similar level, which makes it impossible to predict a top 10.
Kittel will be the main favourite for the sprint stages, challenged by Cavendish, Sagan, Appolonio, Swift and Goss.
And then the route looks like there’ll be plenty of days for breakaway riders, where the rest of our guys will get their chance to shine.
