Nordic Cycling | Final Farewell
Ian Butler
Back from France. Sorry but I'm too tired to catch up on every story, so I'll just re-follow now. See you're still going strong, coming close to 100. Great Smile

Atlantius
welker: Well that's class for you!

SSJ2Luigi: After all stage races are all about consistency

Ian: Welcome back. To give you a short summary the pink jersey changed shoulders almost every day in the final week of the giro with Fuglsang taking it back from Antón on the stage 21 TT. He then went on to finish 2nd in Dauphiné (Gesink won) after a stage win on Ventoux.
We dominated Jylland Rundt, and took three stages, the points, mountain and young riders jersey in Tour de Suisse.

Next on the menu: Championship week!

Looks like I missed some exciting stuff. Well done on the Giro, though Grin

Atlantius
You did. Especially the Giro was nervewrecking with only 7 seconds parting 1st and 2nd in the end

National Championships - Time Trial

We declared from the start that we wanted a monopoly of National Championships in the North. We have all the champions on the team, but has never actually won all the races. This is the time to realize that ambition!

Norsk Mesterskap, Tempo

Tobias Tonning set best time early on and held it until he was beaten by Laengen.
Then as the third last rider came Nordhaug, who cut almost a minute of Laengens time. Unfortunately for the Vodafone-rider Boasson Hagen has a well established monopoly of this title and is in top-shape…

Danmarksmesterskabet, Enkeltstart

Rasmus Quaade was our first rider on the route and he completely destroyed the previous times riding 1’29’’ faster than André Steensen.
No one was able to challenge Quaades time until only three riders remained. Alex Rasmussen and our two main rivals today: Mads Christensen and Lasse Norman Hansen.

Christensen was 16 seconds slower than Rasmus and Hansen was 10 seconds faster than Christensen...

Since we were now certain of winning the title Alex decided to sit up to make sure Rasmus got the jersey. We were given no intermediate times, so no one really know how fast he was riding in comparison at the time, but he probably would have won had he gone all-in for the finish.

Svenska Mesterskapen, Tempolopp

In the Swedish Championships we only expected Wetterhall to be a potential problem. Ludvigsson is in good shape, but you can't count out the world champion in spite of his lacking form either.

Tobias Ludvigsson set best time on every line he crossed, but when Wetterhal came by and beat Tobias on both intermediates.

Fortunately it’s only the last line that counts and there Tobias was the fastest. Three seconds was all that separated the two!

welker: Well it wouldn't be much of a super-team if we couldn't beat the others...

The team looking great so far. Now WIN THOSE TITLES!!!!!!!!!

Ian Butler
Nice TT victories. Waiting for at least 1 RR title Smile

Luis Leon Sanchez
Im sorry if I have missed something here.
Why isnt Matti Breschel in your team. He is a danish rider who in PCM2011 rides for rabobank. Good cobble rider amd decent sprinter.

Atlantius
Jakstar: I'll do my best!

Ian: Only one RR-title would be considered a failure for this team...'

Luis Leon Sanchez: I know Matti Breschel very well and he is on the team. He's not just in form at the moment since he will be targeting the Vuelta and the World Championships after having ridden the cobbles season and winning Milano - Sanremo.

You should also place breschel in Paris Roubaix. He is in my rabobank team in my career and came 4th in Paris Roubaix and 2nd in the national road race .

Obviously he rode all the cobbled classics. As far as I remember he finished 6th in P-R this season.

I find it next to impossible to have a proper peak for cobbles, NC and WC without overdoing the fatigue, so this year Matti is going for the rainbow in stead of the NC. Afterall WC's are another of his specialities Wink

Three National TT Champions, Great work Grin

Luis Leon Sanchez
In my world championships with the utch team i only came 11th but a member of my rabobank team came 2nd which was freire and breschel came 7th.

Atlantius
sutty: Thanks. Everything pretty much went by the book even though I came close to losing the Swedish championship yet again...

Luis Leon Sanchez: They can be really tough races if you haven't got the specialists. And after all Freire is three-times World Champion and Breschel has two WC medals IRL...
