Canadian Classics

For these race we only had any slight hopes for young Matzen as most of the other riders were mainly here to build fitness for the world championships.

Bøchman is carrying some good form on from Post Danmark Rundt, but is more of a stage racer than a classics guy, so his chances for a large oart depends on how the competition decide to race.

Grand Prix Cycliste de Québec

The strategy was to constantly have a rider in the break – just in case the favourites failed like they did when Voigt won in France.
First Fuglsang was away, then Ludvigsson. Third man was Gustav Larsson. All reeled back in by ISD – Ferrari and Rabobank. Then when Gustav was reeled back in 7 km from the finish line Bøchman decided to have a go still highly motivated by his champions-jersey.

Against all odds he made it all the way to a highly surprising win with Brian and Thor doing great in the sprint behind.

We didn’t even plan on winning – we just wanted to be annoying for the favourites and a thrill for the fans – guess we kind of succeeded in that…

Grand Prix Cycliste de Montréal
Another race without any obligations for us. WC-riders with room in the calendar have been sent to Tour of Britain, and thus our team for this race constists of the fittest of those left and riders who might be selected for the world championships, but have already raced a lot of days.

Since it worked quite well in Québec we haven’t changed our strategy the slightest bit. Hushovd is in the first break. With 15 km to go Thor crashes out of the finish. He seems alright though.
i1353.photobucket.com/albums/q675/AllanHG/Nordic%20Cycling%20Project/2014%20Volvo%20Stark/09-09-Montreal_zps93af36a3.jpg
Brian does well to hang on to the favourites in the final bit, but he still needs to build some physique for when the races gets really hard.
Nice victory by Kennaugh nonetheless.

Miguel: We came expecting nothing and only cause we had to so overall two very succesful days in Canada Grin

Ian: Big and surpising...

SSJ2Luigi: Well they are the national colours after all Wink

PCM rulezz: Thanks

dienblad: In deed. Guess we got the other team tired by sending a new rider out front to fight to the bitter end every time they reeled in a break. Didn't have anyone with a strong punch for the sprint (Hushovd is not in shape), so wnet for chaotic in stead Wink

Tour of Britain

This is a race with a special place in our hearts as we have won it the last two years. So we come to give the fans something to chear about while getting especially Jakob Fuglsang fighting fit for the worlds.

Already on stage 2 Jakob tok the lead and the stage win after a brave solo effort from 75 km out.

On stage 3 it was Ludvigssons time to shine after an attack 10 km from the line.

The rest of the stages went on without much drama for us and in the end we got the GC and the team classifications, along with getting Fuglsang in top shape for the worlds. All in all a very seccesful race for us once again.

Considering that Montreal will be a 1.HC race next season we will probably see a stronger field when we come back in 2015...

Points Jersey: Tom Boonen, RadioShack - Nissan

Mountain Jersey: Alexander Boyd, Team Type 1 - Sanofi

Young Rider: David Boily, SpiderTech powered by C10

Team Classification: Volvo - STARK

And now on for the World Championships.

Already when planning the season bacn in january we planned for Jakob Fuglsang and Gustav Larsson to peak at this point of the season and so far they're looking strong.

The TT is a little special this year as it ends with a climb. That is no disadvantage for any of my two hopes as it will eliminate some of the pure TT'ers while the top GC-riders all seem to be out of shape at the moment.

The RR is the classic riding over a hill a number of times and finishing at the end of a downhioll section. pretty much anything can happen in Ponferrada!

Two stage wins and the Overall lead, things are going very well indeed Grin

SSJ2Luigi
good luck for the worlds

Atlantius
sutty: They are, but the rest of the top 10 reveals it wasn't exactly our hardest wins Wink

SSJ2Luigi: Thanks. gettin a jersey will be hard, but it seems that both Cancellara and Tony martin are out of shape, so this could be the year someone manage to challenge them...
