well, isn't that a pretty normal use of classics riders at a GT? I mean I'm sure Steegmans would be in the sprints and would likely get one helper... but that sounds a lot like what Robbie mcewen had at the tour. It doesn't seem like it's all that special in regards to lance.

Marc De Maar --> Ouch

wait, really?

Yes really. (I do his website btw)

He had an offer from Cofidis, but he preferred to go a step back. He had a bad luck the last 3 years (2 times broken elbow, this year pfeiffer), and he wants to rediscover cycling and stay out of sight for a while (racing the American circuit)

Cool, Its nice to know that the American circuit has enough respect to convince a good rider from a big cycling country to come over, even if it is so that he can get his feet back underneath him.

Good choice in OUCH as well. Landis is Landis, but Rory Sutherland seems like the sort of guy I'd like to be riding with. Plus OUCH is the main "favorite" for a TOC wildcard.

Latest news on Michael Rasmussen is that he has officially signed a contract with Tecos Trek which makes it possible for him to ride the Vuelta Chihuahua.

For the 2010 season, Contentpolis is the most likely option. They tried signing him before the Vuelta, but the race organizer didn't allow them to change their line-up, and therefore, the contract was never signed. They are still said to be interested in MR, though.

New german Team NetApp signed Baumann and Schillinger.

In an interview in july ds Jens Heppner said they want to be ready to go to the Tour de France in long term, aiming for a pro-tour licence in 4 years and that next years team should be somewhere in the category of Team Wiesenhof even though its just a continental team.
He also said the team will not only focus on riders from germany they want to have riders from many different countries.

Sounds good. German cycling needs a boost.

this would be just awesome. It would be interesting to see if he still is the "unbeatable climber". The true winner of Tour 07 hopefully comes back!!!! best news i ever heard about him Grin

That's a disappointing signing from Cervelo.... I mean that it gives a bad signal when you sign a rider that has been banned because of bad "behaviour."

ruben
You people are acting ludicrously...

It was never an intentional action by Bos, he is known as a fair sprinter on the track. His inexperience on the road and a wrong-placed barrier led to the whole incident. He even talked it out with Impey.

You know what's dissapointing? People like you behaving like that. That's dissapointing

Guido Mukk
Impey accident is left behind for me..(until next one comes).
But why Cervelo..Rabo has waited - trained - payed. To get him after track career..now he signs with Cervelo..

Inferio
I don't understand what you have against Bos, these things happen in sprints and has no much experience with road sprints...it can happen...

ruben
He went to Cervelo because at Rabobank, he would not get much help in sprints. (like Freire). For Bos, that is probably no option.

Appearently Cervelo promised him help, and a GT. With the Giro start in Amsterdam I figure they will use him there. And have Hushovd/Haussler for the Tour

Is it usually cost that one sprinter drags another sprinter to the ground, knowing that it is a serious risk that he will be seriously hurted when he does so? If that has been a thing that happens in sprints, then I haven't seen many sprints in the last, because I haven't seen something like this.... If you have, please tell it and if it's possible, I want to watch the pictures....

ruben
You misinterpret the pictures, that is your problem.
