I´m currently the manager of a very small team, with only 10 riders. It´s a custom team, and only young riders are in it. One of my riders is a good sprinter and allrounder.
After the first half of the season i had some sponsor offers. Hmm nice i thought but i liked my current sponsor and there jersey. So i waited and waited until the beginning of august and accepted the contract offer from my sponsor. All the offers I got from different sponsors were at 70000 or so. After a day or so i got the mail from my sponsor stating that they are happy with the 36000 $ contract for the next two years. I was like Holy shit why the f*** is the contract value so low??

Now at the end of the season, my top rider is the best in the Continental ranking. With 9 wins and 3 little tour wins like Tour of Britain and Tour de Gevaudan and Tour of Turkey.

I think that when u can renew your Contract with your current Sponsor you should be able to see their offer to choose the best of it. I´m pretty sure that in the next season i will be relegated.

I can tell you why the new contract is so low, because the sponsor is poor.
But of course you should be able to see the amount beforehand. Cyanide are just not capable of programming a working manager game.

Anyway, not signing with a rich sponsor because of the color of your actual yersey isn't very clever. At least if you wish to sign good riders. You have to contact good riders early, else they will go to other teams for sure.

The thing is, my sponsor is on the International Level, so wealthy enough. It was the first time i started with a one year contract, normally i start with a 3 years contract and the sponsor payment grows to 70000 / month. I was just really surprised. Andy Schleck and some other major riders didn't get a contract, SO now at the beginning of the new season they don´t have a team. And i have a budget of -2600 $ for new contracts.

Darn. I just accepted to renew with my current sponsor Efapel. They want a Portuguese team and so do I.
I currently have 28k a month or so. They did say that due to good results they would increase the amount for next year, but I had offers over 55k. Now I have no idea how much I will get.
After a pretty nice half season (one stage, a second place and the mountain jersey in tour of california are my flashy highlights)

You can see a glimpse of that. Just try to sign a rider(u23 will do as well). At the negotiation screen, there's a line that shows how much the sponsor is currently planning to bring in next season.
Of course, you can just click the negotiation away after that, without anything happening.
Keep in mind that that amount you see can still change, depending if your sponsor happiness will increase or decrease in the rest of the season

My estimated wage bill is 29k
The maximum authorised is 55k
My sponsor allocated 51k for next season, so not so bad I think.

How much money will I actually have for next season?
This season I've been eating away at the money. Rider wages and sponsor monthly pay is about the same, but staff comes out of the big pot and will be pretty much dry by the time the season ends. Do I get another load of money at the end of the season or just an extra "month"?

If you really have problems with your staff, you could fire them in the off season and sign them again next year. Of course you have to calculate if it is worth it because you would have to pay an signing fee next year.

There are plenty of threads discussing the need of certain staff. Maybe you don't need all of them.

Running the numbers, I fired my scout that was eating 8k a month and just to make sure till the end of season. After firing him, adding my current riders and staff, I have 8k a month to spare for next season because I have not renewed my captain. Why is PCM so lame at managing??

And scouts are overrated anyway... Checking U23 results is cheap(well, free) and just as effective, to me.

Well... renewing a sponsor just sucks big time. This being my first season, I just didn't know what to expect. I'm playing Efapel - Glassdrive.
I had an offer to renew and I did. They said they would make more money available. I was getting 32k a month or something. After I renewed, offers just kept on coming, around 45k to 58k. In october when the season ended. I was in 8th place on the continental and got promoted to pro. Offers in the range of 90k or more started to come in.
Why do I love this game so much??? Maybe they could at leas cut the name short to PC... because the management is crap.
