Yes i understand, but I don't see a route drawn. Only a blank square map with hills. Or should i zoom in closer or something?

The gps file doesn't do the job for you
It gives you only a "map" with the route drawed on it you'll have to follow

You have to go in topview mode. On the right choose the second window.
There you can load a gpx/kml again.
Then you will see a route oin your topview card. There won`t be a route in 3D Mode.
So you have to draw the streets in Topview.

Nice to see people excited about making stages.
My dream is that in two or three months' time we'll have all the real life stages of every UCI 2.1 or above calendar race made for PCM

I hope there is a way to get working .dem files for all other areas than central Europe.
Otherwise we have to do it similar to the old editor with setting hills on our own. But this isn`t just the same

I've made a rough (to test if i can do it) Stage 1 of the 2010 tour of britain.
The profile is.. perfect. An exact match to the one the organisers have put out.

It just happened to me if there were high mountains. So there was snow in the .dem files.

I think Cyanide said it changed automaticly depending on the time of year.? High mountains in April will have more snow than in July.

Yes, the time of year + region define the weather.

Yeah, I've already done Stage 1.
I'll wait until i've finished the entire thing before releasing it though.

Most of the times it's because your climbs have more than 25 % of inclination, but can be because you have some very tight curves.
I have a question what do i have to do to read the files, from the created stage , ( ex: Col du toumalet.zces) when i try to open it it says that i haven't the right program, do i have to download anything??

You cannot open .zces with the editor. So there is no way to add anything to the Cyanide stages.

About the gpx and "automatic" terraformer, 2 news :
1. Freire told me they were working on an "add-on" to add some countries (For example, australia, usa, oman, ...)
2. I'm not good enough on it but we can "build" a stage on "heightmap". For those who knows, like in simcity. The problem is to find how it works
For the IBs, I tried to insert the "old" ones in the new SE. It works partially but some textures don't work . We'll have to modify the xml files in the "IB" folder. I let this work to someone with good skills in graphics. A Kappelmuur without its chapel isn't the Kappelmuur
