Oh, also, I'd like to hear more about it (CS uni) from you AaB (perhaps roturn aswell, but I am not really interested in that subject, to be completely fair). What subject did you chose? Is it too hard, what subjects from high school are mostly needed and general stuff like that. I, of course, made some resarches on google, but it's always better to hear it from someone that's directly connected to all that. It can go to PM, if it's too much to reveal here. Thanks.
Well, for Computer Science, it's math, math, math, math.

Had my first day at the university today. It was an intro, sort of, but my classmates seem nice people. I study philosophy.

@AaB- What type of CS are you referring to? Machine-based or web-based, or both. I'm just starting to get into offline programming these couple years, but still have 0 knowledge on web design
@roturn: Always had a question I wanted to ask. Why ` instead of ' , was there an old story somewhere on the forum I'm not familiar with?
Anyhow second week of school now for me, too freaking hectic to get on here much. Also have a dilemma. Taking Calculus this year and Multivar next year, but in three years time (uni) I'll have forgotten all that, perhaps I should re-learn it instead of placing out...maybe..

Replace week for day and then same here
Only 10 hours of lessons this year. And Tuesday off, which is nice. Should probably revise in that time though

Both and none of them at the same time. Computer Science is really about the theory of computers, not a programming class. It's a lot more math/computation than actual programming.
This means that graduates are ready for a very wide variety of computational tasks, including programming, system architecture or researching on the area.

So more about algorithms and how they work as opposed to actually doing them, so it's more theoretical then. I see.

8 Weeks past in the school season, which means it's the end of the 1st period... 5 Tests this week, already did one, which was quite a funny experience.
Our school approaches retired people who are bored sitting at home to 'babysit' us whilst we are making our tests... Nothing strange, right?
Well, yesterday was strange. On the first page of the test it said we were allowed to use a calculator and a pen, so the man who had to babysit us assumed we didn't need paper... Took us 10 minutes to explain him we actually did...
I may have aced that test tho, was so easy...

Just 3 more weeks until my 3rd semester of college is over!!
Got my 4th semester (halfway point) scheduled with these classes!
Graphic Design (Using Photoshop)
E-Commerce
Introduction to Programming
Introduction to Philosophy
Introduction to Comparative Politics
I am more excited about the first 2 than the rest.
Looking forward to getting rid of this Java Programming class I am in now, hoping to escape with an A. Computer Science isn't a bad class, neither is Web Design & Development

On the subject of new classes, my quarter rotation ended 2 weeks ago, so I guess I can post about my stuff.
At my school, we have this class where you must go be an assistant/student service learner to a teacher for 45 days. We get to select our teachers, so naturally I went with my personal favorite. Best part -- I do nothing that hour and a half. We literally make hot apple cider and laugh about the pathetic nature of the world around us the whole time. It's the best meant-to-be-boring class I've ever had. XD

Trades, smaller college, work. I still dont know what I want to do, and the whole "going to school and finding what you like and dislike" that way just isn't for me. I think I need to step away from Uni for a bit, and maybe that will help me get a clearer idea of what I want to do.

Got my final grade of the first block yesterday, and so far things are looking good. Of the 60 ECTS available this year I've got 15 so far, which is the max possible so far, so I'm right on schedule for passing the 60 points this year already
With currently only 2 subjects (History of IR, Academic Skills) it seems like I won't have a high workload, but that unfortunately isn't true... Anyway, as it looks now I'll have both a christmas break and another 2-week break at the end of january

60 ECTS really is something you should try to achieve the first year. Not only does it take a lot of pressure away from you, you also get bonus breaks for not having to do resits.
I've succesfully done it last year, and I can say I really enjoy watching those who didn't sweat to pass the tests to not get kciked from the study (You need these points from year 1 in 2 years anyway)
Still missing 1 grade from my first block, but with a 6.4, 7.5, 8.7 and a 10 already I guess I did fairly well

I´m waiting for the English exam I did last week!
I hope my teacher will put year 1000 as "one thousand" finally... and I would get a 10!
