For love nor money I couldnt find this in the manual, so here goes.

In the calendar view (where you register for races), each race/tour has a class next to it. These are:
UTP = Pro Tour?
1.1
2.1
1.HC
2.HC
NC = Northern Classic?

Can someone explain what each one is. - That may explain what my chances are of gaining entry using the 1 star Rock Racing Team.

UPT means Pro Tour. You can't score any points for your Continentasl Ranking in these races.

2.HC and 1.HC are the highest Continental classification, meaning this is where you can score the most points. The numbers in front of HC defines what kind of race it is: 1 means Classic (one day race), 2 means stage races.

1.1 and 2.1 are 'below' 1.HC and 2.HC and should be 'easier' for your Rock Racing team. There's less points than in the .HC races, but the competition should be easier to handle.

You may also find some 1.2 and 2.2 races. As you may have figured out by now, these are the next categories (below 1.1 and 1.2).

NC means National Championship.
