Always enjoy watching these stages for the mess around antics, always amusing before we get down to the fast sprint finishes.

Such a convincing win by Greipel, again Columbia show when it comes to sprints, they're the best team.

This was a sucky Vuelta for me. I missed the few exciting moments of the race (not that there were too many, but anyways), Valverde won and Gesink and Evans lost their opportunities. Not that I would like to debate "Gesing or Evans would have won had they been more lucky", but at least it would have been a better race. And today the TVE's signal got down a few minutes before the sprint...

17 out of 63 for Columbia in GT this year, and a whole bunch of top 10 positions. what a machinery...

If offense is the best defence, does it mean that defence is the worst defence?

Not a bad ratio huh?
Oh and this you may have forgotten, but that was the last day of the last GT.
We got the Worlds, Paris-Tours and Lombardia of the big races left to the end of the season.

I edited, did my math a little wrong.
6+6+5=17
Does anyone good with the statistics know if that's a record number of GT stage wins for one team?

Well, Fassa Bortolo also had 17 in 2003, with Petacchi getting 6 in the Giro, 5 in the Vuelta and 4 in the Tour. Jiménez and Frigo also won in the Giro. All according to Wikipedia. Other than that, I don't know at the moment.

thats quite a cynical view to take, but although he won't test positive here, Valverde will be banned for his 2006 offences soon i would suppose.

Alejandro Valverde wuuuuuuuuuhoooooooo booochaaaa finally. Doped and 2 years gone! Finally UCI!
It's obvious Valverde's going to be suspended. That's why Evans finished third. Because once Valverde is suspended, Evans will float to his natural place, second. That's why God made Evans lose a minute with a puncture and thus lose second place.
(or some other conspiracy theory thingy )
Also, when that happens my post is simply going to be "Finally. About time" or something.

He might be suspended, but the will never take this vuelta away from him. Because there was not any positive test in La Vuelta, so Evans will also stay in third!!
Anyway he will be the first person suspended for doping with any positive analysis. Because I just want to remind you that what they found him was a plasma bag. But that is another story, the main point is that this Vuelta es his and UCI will not take it away from him!!

The first rider to be suspended without a positive test? Uh, no. Basso? Earlier this year, several (was it 3? 4?) riders were suspended thanks to the bio passport.
And there are probably many more examples
