It is absolutely a subjective thougt, but he lost about 1'30 minutes at Valverde when he punctured, and even maybe 15-30 secounds extra, cause he had to struggle almost alone. Then,he lost some time at Pandora, where he had to be offensive, as a cause of the earlier time loss, and with out those time losses, I think he could had been a competitor of Valverde for tomorrows TT.

I doubt it. Evans won 3, count em 3, seconds in the first TT, which was dead flat and completely in Evans advantage.
The second TT is hilly and shorter. I don't think Evans was ever going to win (neither was Gesink btw).

After each GT this year, many fans have complained about how boring it was.
Last year was similar as well... after the Giro (which was animated largely by dopers).
Is this what Cycling is with today's equipment and team tactics with a "lesser" doping regime?
For the last two years, it seems the vast majority of attacks (or at least repeated attacks) have come from guys who months later have been caught doping. The "clean" guys... well they just haven't been able to attack... at least not repeatedly like we were used to seeing before.
Is that just the way it is without the higher powered doping regimine?
Or do the riders now just suck in comparison to the guys a few years back?

I think people are just picky, you can't have a grand tour and have people atack at the bottom of every climb, riders arn't strong enough.
There are pretty much 2 things that make a GT great, drama and attacks.
Unfortunately attacks mean time gaps and, as such, you can't have both very easily. hence GT's are always dissapointing.

Just make the teams smaller...
Max 6 riders per team!

And the final Gesink update:
"I refuse to give up, it is simply not in my system and I will regret giving up later on. Besides, the Vuelta is only 27km more, sunday is an easy ride.
Yes I'll go to the worlds. I've shown here I'm in super shape. I might not be next week, but if I even come remotely close I can do more than other rides from our country. So I'll go"

Millar currently has the best time, 30 seconds ahead of Kreuziger. He's also now riding for Astana according to cyclingnews

Yesterday's stage was a bit wet. Only thing of interest today is whether Basso can hold onto the podium. Very little chance I think.
Without his fall, and the way he rode Amstel earlier this year, I'd have had Gesink down as one of the big favorites for the Worlds this year.

For some reason, it kind of bugs me that Piti is wearing yellow and not gold.

Looks are extremely deceiving and can't ever be relied upon in a TT. Evans looks fast.
