Nope..look one month back..then you get most booring GT..and I am also sry that Gesink had that injury. Vuelta still beating TdF exitment..with mile.

The TDF was the worst GT of the year, the Vuelta had all the stuff to be the best, but the riders ignored 2/3 of the mountain stages last weekend.

It isn't the favourites who have made that little exitment, that's for sureWink

Gesink got dropped, didn't he? I'm guessing he did.

I spent the day 200 miles away and just got back. Haven't even checked the results. Who can be kind enough to tell me how the stage went?

well Gesink was droped..all team was back there to help him out..
Sylwester pulled a final climb..after that just favorites was left there..also Mosquera..

Sanchez atacked about 200m before summit..Valverde follows..
Descent..wet weather ..Sanchez did want to make any mistakes..other riders started to come back one after another..Mosquera, Evans, Cobo..etc..and at the end even Basso..who was clearly in trouble..and was behind about 20 sec. thanks to he's lame descent skills.

They let Cobo escape just before final km..booring.

High pace up the last mountain, primarily from Szmyd. Sanchez tried attacking a couple of times, but he barely got a gap any of the times.

Gesink couldn't keep up due to the injuries and lost c. 4 minutes.

I'm sorry for Gessink, valleverde does not deserve this vuelta but I'm wondering why evans does't have the nerve to atack. That man has no soul for this sport.it is only a contender but no more.i'm realy sorry for him but doest't deserve a better place.tht is his level.bad luck or not hi can do better that this but hi does not have that feeling for wining a grand tour

i love german riders but i hate dopers

he looks quite tired for me..Every time when tempo is real high..he has been first one who has problems to follow..inside favorite group.
Seems like he will get to the podium..and that is a little undeserved.

Gesink was crying afterwards, he said he has suffered enough for this year.

He was very dissapointed, "3 weeks and fighting for general classification is hard enough on his own. Try that with a fall and injuries. I suffered enough for this year".

I do not think he will start tomorrow, neither will we see him in action at the worlds or Lombardy. It's highly unlikely

Very bad luck for Gesink, i'm sure he'll bounce back next season and finally win a GT, so close, he didn't deserve the crash.

His twitter says the opposite.

First he of course thanks the team for a the work, and then says 'two days left and then the WC - that week rest will do me good'

out of ever 1000 people, 999 would have abandoned and ended their season here - not Robert, he's that one person going to the limit and beyond.
He's very, very strong. Mentally.

Gesink cried? Him and Mosquera were the only ones to actually try something. Poor guy...

But the thing is Gesink mentality is not his only weapon.
He is also the best rider ever in the Rabobank squad physically, pushing 510 watts at the maximum-test (45 minutes).

The combination of talent and determination will be rewarded in the future.
