If really excited about what Basso can do. In the first two mountain stages, he didn't prove he has progressed since the Giro, where he clearly was some way off his former ability.

Julián Sánchez has a good chance at this stage. Hesjedal shouldn't be discounted.

Yesterday I was watching the 2006 Vuelta DVD. Although the commentators didn't mention him once and I only saw him for very afar, it was obvious the guy in red and white was Bernhard Kohl. Climbs like he's having a seizure.
