My Gilbert-bet was quite close....
Well done bye Farrar, "finally" taking a stage this year.

Top sprinters had a tough job because of Cancellara's attack. They lacked of lead out riders. What a waste of energy for Liquigas.

So now a rest day, then the "lumpy stuff" begins and the vuelta gets very interesting.

Awful again by Bennati, and what the hell had Breschel been up to not being in the enormous group...

This is what Farrar has needed, a stage where all the top sprinters were in the wrong place completely.

Farrar withdrew today. Somehow he feels that instead of continuing the Vuelta to maybe win another stage and having a shot at the green jersey, it's better to skip that to prepare for a race where he has no chance at all whatsoever.
I'll never understand why over 100 riders per season choose to prepare especially for the worlds so they can "get a good result" when they quite obviously have no chance at all.
It's just stupid. Yet dozens and dozens do it every year. WTF.

I only have one complaint about the Vuelta route, why is the rest day on the day i got off from school really early and would have seen the stage.
