Kocjan wins and takes the lead in Bessèges. Today Leukemans wins and Voeckler takes the lead.

Meanwhile in Italy Petacchi wins the season opener for the fifth year in a row, ahead of the weakest field of sprinters.........ever. I mean, as tremendous as Guarneri's potential is, he's not exactly a top sprinter....

Even sucky sucky Rob Hunter was 3rd. I've never seen such a bad field there Frown

Even Ginanni was 4th and he's not a pure sprinter.

Wheelsucker. A somewhat dated term for someone who, while riding in a paceline, doesn't take a turn at the front of the line. These days they get called lots of other names. None are printable here...

Bonk. Total exhaustion caused by lack of sufficient food during a long race or ride.
that's not true:
Radek Bonk (born January 9, 1976, in Krnov, Czechoslovakia) is a professional ice hockey center in the NHL for the Nashville Predators.

....who never lived up to his potential, and thus is a third line center at best.

Yeah - what said most about the field was propably Ginnani in 4th and Marko Kump as 5th.

Great to see Guarnieri showing results with the pros already, though - he may not only be the next Petacchi but the first Guarnieri.

Never.

Challenging Petacchi and losing by only a wheel only 7 races into his first season is pretty damn insane.

He really is that good. Can he reach the level he's hyped up to achieve? That would be interesting.
