Columbia screwed it up again for Greipel. He still had two men in front of him when all other sprinters already went...
1. Guarnieri (liquigas)
2. davis
3. greipel
4. napolitano
5. abakoumov

Brown went with 300m to go or something. And then columbia were screwed.
You should keep the pace high enough to prevent such a thing, the speed simply wasn't high enough..
Greipel got a solid beating by Guarnieri anyhow.

Very small discussion
and BTW, I've seen Bonk play, he's as bad as you'd expect for a checking line center on the Nashville Predators...

Yeah, Greipel was blocked but he could sprint at the end. I'm happy Boasson Hagen won.

Whole sprint was a bit chaotic again - Hagen was leading out from sth like 300 metres, and when he noticed he's close to finish and Greipel isn't coming out of his wheel, he just pushed it to the line.
By the way, Greipel got disqualified for pushing Allan Davis during final sprint. Davis was that one, that blocked Greipel about 100 metres from line, thus not letting Greipel to overtake Hagen. German pushed him and jumped for 2nd place on last 50 metres, but got disqualified.
That way, Roelandts became new leader.

My mistake, the finish was AFTER that 1800m col, so after a long downhill and whatnot.

2nd WTF moment of the day:
Main commentator reminiscing about the days, almost 30 years ago when he held guest commentator Sérgio Paulinho in his hands and sat him on his lap
..............
uncomfortable silence inevitably followed.

And that's the end of the (very short) Prologue (suited for sprinters). Sprinters such as Cardoso, Hondo and Petacchi did very well.
And so did all the stage racers who will contend for the overall, since they're all very good time triallists.....
....except for Cunego who sucks and predictably lost a bit of time.
Cândido Barbosa won the stage by 0.01 seconds
