Monte Paschi Eroica
Burghardt tried a knock-out and soon he had an advantage of more than 2 minutes
Behind him was made a 'chasing' group, where are Eisel and Hincapie. Though that are 4 there the AG2R riders are not working
And soon only three of them go after Burghardt: Paolini, Eeckhout and Hincapie
Burghardt is still hanging on in front but the others are coming fast
Though that Hincapie doesn't relay
Then big George makes an intersting move and the other 2 are about to crack
He caught Marcus, but too bad that Burghardt could keep it up with him
So a fantastic win for Hincapie
Burghardt manages to get the second place
While Eisel finishes fifth
Results
1. George Hincapie Team Columbia 5h33'00
2. Marcus Burghardt Team Columbia + 1'50
3. Luca Paolini Acqua e Sapone - Caffè Mokambo s.t.
4. Nico Eeckhout Team CSC - Saxo Bank s.t.
5. Bernhard Eisel Team Columbia + 2'43
6. Alexandre Pliuschin AG2R La Mondiale + 3'57
7. Janek Tombak Lampre + 4'29
8. Renaud Dion AG2R La Mondiale + 4'53
9. Jean-Charles Sénac AG2R La Mondiale + 5'19
10. Ralf Grabsch Team Milram s.t.

Dominating again
As that old romanian proverb says if you don't win it in the cobbles you win it on gravel

Apparently Cav wasn't the only sprinter who couldn't hang on, because that does not really look like an everyday mass sprint, judging by the top 10.
