I can keep trying to fix it but it doesn't seem to work. I might start a new story with the Holowesko Partners/Felt U23 Team

Stage 1

The Tirreno Adriatico is made up of only one Mountain stage and the rest are mainly flat. That means that there is a chance that a breakaway rider could win so our team will have to be alert throughout the whole race.

I was able to sit back in the peloton and have a chat with our other National Champion, Trent Lowe. He will be one of the riders who will help me during the Mountain Stage.

i65.photobucket.com/albums/h201/matthew493/Daniel%20Martin/2010/tirreno%20adriatico/Thepeloton.jpg

There was a large breakaway but the group never got a big gap so we let the other teams continue chasing the breakaway.

i65.photobucket.com/albums/h201/matthew493/Daniel%20Martin/2010/tirreno%20adriatico/Thebreakaway.jpg

As expected the stage came down to a sprint and our sprinter Farrar wasn't in good position to start out with but because of a great lead out by Dominique Rollin, he managed to move up to 10th place. It was Filippo Pozzato who took the stage win ahead of Bennati.

 Rollin's form is the best right now so you will see a lot of him in the races in the beginning of the season. Wink So far he is my best signing.

I'm excited to be back. Im excited about the Tour because last year Vandevelde was held back by me going for the Polka Dot jersey and no other Mountain helpers. Now with me staying to help and the improvement of Lowe and the addition of Dekker. We look strong. I also plan on targeting the Vuelta this year.

Stage 2
Today is another flat stage that should belong to the sprinters. There was s group of riders who were trying to ruin the day for the sprinters.

i65.photobucket.com/albums/h201/matthew493/Daniel%20Martin/2010/tirreno%20adriatico/Thebreak.jpg

They were caught long before the finish and Farrar wasn't strong enough to hold the wheel of the riders in front of them. It was Elminger who took the win for AG2R.

Stage 3
Stage 3 begins with a long climb that last for almost 20 kilometers. Despite the climb it is likely that only a few sprinters will drop off the back because the final 110 kilometers is downhill or flat. On the climb 5 people attacked. Columbian Marlon Pérez was too strong for the other breakaway riders and stayed in front for the climb.

i65.photobucket.com/albums/h201/matthew493/Daniel%20Martin/2010/tirreno%20adriatico/PerezpushesuptheMountain.jpg

On the downhill he was joined by the 4 other members of the breakaway. They worked together and with 50 kilometers left they still had a lead of over 4 minutes. Euskatel was the team that controlled the peloton for most of the race. They were trying to set up their sprinter, Alessandro Petacchi.

i65.photobucket.com/albums/h201/matthew493/Daniel%20Martin/2010/tirreno%20adriatico/Euskatelchases.jpg

Farrar was ready today. He had two choices on where to go. He could try to let Cozza and Dean lead him out or try to join another train. He decided to latch on to the wheel of Daniele Bennati.

i65.photobucket.com/albums/h201/matthew493/Daniel%20Martin/2010/tirreno%20adriatico/FarraronBennatiswheel.jpg

It was the right choice as Cozza soon fell back and Farrar was set up great for the sprint. Unfortunately, Lampre had an even better lead out on the far right of the road and they were already 3 or 4 bike lengths ahead of Liquigas' train. Mirko Lorenzetto won the stage and Farrar only lost 3rd to Bennati by an inch or two.
