Hurrah, Missouri no longer clashes with the TOB!

But the crappy worlds location means that the big names (Cav) won't be there.

An apology is not in order. as there is still no proof for Hoogerland doping.

Actually, I offered an apology in the Vuelta topic, should you deem it necessary to brand me with some kind of brush you seem to sweep over anyone who disagrees with you.

You know my type? Uhuh.

No reason to get personal.

Well, Gent-Wevelgem also has been moved 10 days earlier. Now its. The Weekend after Milano-San Remo/ the sunday before RVV.
Its now clashing with the Volta Ciclista a Catalunya instead of Vuelta Ciclista al Pais Vasco.

About the Vacansoleil doctor: In june he published a book to "inform" those in cycling about how EPO is used and such. He states that it's perfectly safe and should be administered to riders and such.

Remember Ferrari in 96? "EPO is as dangerous as orange juice". We all know how that turned out Rolling Eyes

The reason I didn't mention that is because it was announced a few days ago and we discussed it then.

Wiggins may make the switch to track again for 2012, speaking with the bbc he said
"I think I'll always be back there in London defending my titles in the pursuit. Shane [Sutton, the British Cycling coach] tells me that, anyway. It's quite far away to really think about it. A lot's happened this year and it's still sinking in, but I'd like to be there in London, defending my titles, going for number three [his third Olympic individual pursuit gold]."

UCI has decided that all cyclist has to get education in anti-doping in order to race. Don't know if it's olnly pro tour or what ever though.

So, what's up with the sensible UCI stuff?

Banning radios, having less ProTour teams, hopefully giving the licence to Cofidis instead of Radioshack...

On top of the DS education programme, wow what's McQuaid been smokin'?

The suspension of L'Hotellerie has been decreased to 5 months by the french cyclist federation, so he will be able to ride next year...

That's disgusting...

Disgusting news indeed. Do you know the reasons and/or have any link about it?

bobcatsman
Because L'Hotellerie said that he took the "méthylhexanamine" to treat a throat ache and that he didn't knew that this product is banned, so the federation believe him.

And an interview :

Thanks. It's really a shame that another doper evade a sanction (or get to make it shorter, as Lhotellerie) due to a technicism. I had a better idea of the french ADA.

lots of dopers coming back in 2010.. Vino, Kasheckin, Ricco, Sella, Lhotellerie, etcetera

The HumanPlasma case continues.

The company has sent in some new tax documents where it's said that they've received 300.000 € from 50 athletes for having 'helped out' with blood doping.

Since we're on the doping subject, I should probably mention something I didn't mention a few days ago

You all remember how Ribeiro won the Volta a Portugal and tested positive, right?

Well, he's also president of a team (youth categories + masters, no pros) whose riders won the Volta in 2 of the 3 youth categories this year.

Both of those kids tested positive.
Also some guy in the masters (you know...old guys, retired pros) also tested positive. He's also from the same team.

Really, this will only surprise those people (and there are a heck of a lot of them) that keep convincing themselves that doping is rare, that most riders are clean, and whose reaction to someone testing positive is always "Stupid. He rode his entire career clean, why did he have to make this mistake now?", completely oblivious to the fact that said rider was doped his entire career. You know, the people that live in a fantasy world where testing is somehow effective.

Meanwhile, back in the real world, an anonymous enquiry of german youth riders (Germany is probably where doping has the greatest stigma, so it's to be expected that it's the country with the least prolific doping), 7% admitted to doping.

These are youth riders. And 7% admitted. Now imagine how many more didn't admit but are doing it anyway. Surely a lot more.
