So, Ruben said where the 2012 worlds will be, BUT... he didn't say it will be very much different.
From 2012 the worlds will go from 5 to 9 days. The Sunday would be a TTT with TRADE TEAMS. (Not amateur, elite!).
Oh, and the worlds will span 2 weekends, one of them clashes with, you guessed it. La Vuelta.
New timetable:
Saturday: Opening Ceremony
Sunday:
Morning: Women’s Team Time Trial
Afternoon: Men’s Team Time Trial
Monday:
Morning: Junior Women’s Time Trial
Afternoon: Under-23 Men’s Time Trial
Tuesday:
Morning: Junior Men’s Time Trial
Afternoon: Elite Women’s Time Trial
Wednesday: Elite Men’s Time Trial
Thursday:
Morning: UCI Congress
Afternoon: UCI Junior Conference
Friday:
Morning: Women’s Road Race
Afternoon: Under-23 Men’s Road Race
Saturday:
Morning: Junior Men’s Road Race
Afternoon: Elite Women’s Road Race
Sunday: Elite Men’s Road Race

Perfect, as if we spaniards weren't enough to kill La Vuelta ourselves.

gah quotes like this make me anoyed
""The GB team has upset the track hierarchy for the past couple of years but the support we're getting now is going to help bring us back on top," added Bobridge."
A Hierarchy?? That GB has upset?
That just anoys me, arogant riders who have their head up their own arses. (Not saying there aren't GB riders who are like that, they're arogant too.)

More details for the worlds 2012
The course will be 16,5km (x?? laps) and include the Bemelerberg and the Cauberg as hills. The finish is shortly after the Cauberg, in Vilt (about 2km after the top).
Bemelerberg is 900m and can be done on the outerblade (even I did so) easily, a real power climb.
Cauberg, well everyone knows it.
Otherwise it's not flat, the parts in between are up and down as well, but nothing too serious. And it's similar to the 1998 course, so it will ensure a hard race

UCI just made a huge decision which will undoubtedly lead to massive protests: All radio contact will be banned.
There's no plan yet for when this will happen - they'll soon present one, though.

I'm surprised they've come up with this after what happened at the Tour.

Team leaders should be allowed to have a radio connection to the team car at all times IMO, maybe limiting the number of radios to two per squad or something like that would make for a good compromise solution.
If offense is the best defence, does it mean that defence is the worst defence?

If this goes forward it'll be a huge step towards exciting racing.
There will also be a lot of whining from the leaders of the strongest teams, spouting the usual lies "it's more dangerous". Right
Good move UCI

I don't know where you read ALL radio contact will be banned, cos I read it as all TWO WAY radio contact will be banned. So either they'll still get orders from the team cars, or still be able to tell their cars they've got a mechanical.

I never said it would be the best solution, just a possible compromise
