I literally proposed something like the rankings Smowz proposed in the beginning of the 2016 season, but noone thought it was a good idea.
I still think it could be added, but probably only for the 2018 season.

A World Cup seems like an even better idea, I'll try to come up with a system which still could be implemented this season.

Well like I said, I'm not for dividing different World Cups. It favors specializations and separates the teams in the competition (What do I care about sprinter or cobbled World Cup?). A World Cup in spirit of the dark epo age is way more fun and gives additional competition value.

Of course we should think about if there is an extra reward associated with it (I think it shouldn't), but it's a good extra goal and people can target it. It's an extra dimension in planning too, since stage races wouldn't count for the World Cup. Maybe some CT1 races, like I said, could be implemented in the competition, to widen the World Cup rankings. Glad you like it!
