Than absolutely no way that he has 99,5, why would he have 11,5 more? that doesn't make sense. Maybe it was just some kind of superlatives for his performances although i do seem to remeber it was in the news-paper an tested by men in white jackets...

Do you mean this?

Apparently (according to the article at least, I don't remember the specifics and can't bother to look for further information) the 99.5 figure may be the result of a not-so-good calculation.

Dominant sprint from Cav.
Another nice result for Degenkolb and especially Selig, who shows some potential which should help his status in the team.

Jon Tiernan-Locke (Endura) wins Stage 1 of the Tour de Med, ahead of Hutarovich (FDJ-Big Mat) and Sebastian Chavanel (Europcar).

Yeah, attacked the bunch with about 2k to go I think and held off the sprinters. Impressive.

Wow, great win for JTL. He was arguably the best climber in the Tour of Britain, so I was looking forward to seeing how he went racing in Europe now with Europe, and already a win!

Looks like he caught the sprinters by surprise late on, and held on to win.

According to PCM10 he has the profile of Vinokourov. And today he really won in Vino style. Great briton for the future along with Luke Rowe let's hope.

He was the best rider on the toughest climb in the Tour of Britain. And yes, its only the Tour of Britain, so the toughest climb hardly compares to mountains, but he looks like a bright prospect. I wouldnt put it past him to do a good climb up Mont Faron later in the race.

Arnaud Demare won the last stage in Qatar, Cavendish had a nasty crash right before the end, but seems ok.

If offense is the best defence, does it mean that defence is the worst defence?

It would have been smarter to bring up the Vuelta a Leon where Tiernan Locke climbed very good on actual climbs ;-)

Yeah, was great seeing him flying up Haytor Rocks in his home county last September. Pure climber Smile

The crash was absolutely unavoidable I think, no one can really be blamed there. But it does show that without HTC to stretch things out in a perfect line, and with Sky being absolutely hopeless at forming a lead-out, sprints have the potential to be a lot more dangerous.

Demare is already living up to the promise he showed with his World U23 win.

Have Eisel lost his 5th spot in the overall ranking because he waited for Cavendish after his crash? Maybe Flecha should also have waited then. Wink

Thats just plain stupid. I just don't like teams going for 1 leader, worst of all if the leader has no chance of overall.
Now I hate Sky, Cav doesn't need 3 babysitters to ride the last 200 meters. Just face it, there was absolutely no reason for them to stop. Even if Cav was badly hurt they would've been useless, they were in the last km, where useful help was at hand. Complete idiots, Sky will certainly fail this year.
