Way too early in the season for him. He would also perform much better if there was a TT.
There is a 10km TT on the last day in this edition although the 2nd half of it is uphill. So he was for many the top favourite next to guys like Coppel or Rolland.
Nice win by Kittel.
Todays stage had to be shortened by 88km or so due to lots of snow.

It wasn't due to snow, but due to riders complaining about snow.

Pretty understandable seeing the conditions there.
Very high danger to get injured.

Yes, I thought he might have been taking it easy in preperation for the TT, but he's no longer in the race.

Stage 3
1 Pierre Rolland (Europcar)
2 Franck Vermeulen (Véranda Rideau-Super U)
3 Nacer Bouhanni (FDJ-BigMat)
4 Stéphane Poulhiès (Saur-Sojasun)
5 Kris Boeckmans (Vacansoleil-DCM)
6 Marco Marcato (Vacansoleil-DCM)
7 Sébastien Chavanel (Europcar)
Impressive by Bouhanni as well. Rolland possibly showing taste of things to come

Rolland? I thought that stage was supposed to be flatish, at least the last kms?

They were, Rolland attacked and Vermeulen joined him I think. The were more attakcers but they were caught, Bouhanni was first from peleton. Don't know about the time gaps yet.

Oh, I see. As biciciclismo has Bouhanni in the GC lead I assumed there were no gaps, so it kinda baffled me.

Not a bad result from Franck Vermeulen, think it's his first year as a pro, at the age of 35.

Gaylord ? No. Never met one, though I've heard of one or two maybe. I'd say there are barely 100 in the country, but that's just a random guess.
As for his surname, I've never met one either. No idea how many there might be. It's not pronounced the English way anyhow, so it's less of a horrible pun.

Bouhanni was celebrated in the leaders jersey, but the results put Rolland 1st in the GC. Forgot the bonifications or what?

Wow Snow, looks like the Big freeze could claim another casualty.
The riders had better get used to it coz this weather is forecasted to stay a while, who know Snow at the Race to the Sun Paris-Nice.
France and Italy both suffering from the cold snap, their the 2 countries important for early season I think apart from Algarve, Andalucia and Middle East.

Etoile de Bessèges, Stage 4. Marcato wins ! What a surprising result
1. Marcato
2. Eeckhout
3. El Fares
