Damned, I really hoped Degenkolb would have made it.
I like sprinters who have guts to escape when they understand it's the best way for them to win/get a result.
With ear-speakers that'd never have worked (of course that didn't work today either).

Wait, there were no race radios today? Awesome. That must've certainly played a role in both the Degenkolb move almost working and the break staying away.

I think it's been already the 2nd season with no radios in all but WT races.

From footage I didn't see a rider with a race radio, and, after checking out, it's confirmed that only World Tour races still have them.

Team Saxo Bank - Tinkoff Banks Nicki Sørensen wins GP Beghelli. Strong performance from the dane, nice win for a man who always works so hard for others.

Maracto could have been relagated after the move in the final, he was lucky there.

De Vreese did really well! Excellent result for him, he's been riding a good year.

Great victory for Marcato, even if the sprint wasn't the cleanest. And hats off to Degenkolb, I think he and Sagan are gonna make me miss Freire a bit less.

No logical reason for him to move that far left, he could have easily been relegated.
Classy attack by Degenkolb, one could really see his determination to win, and he was just short of making contact. I can't wait to see him again next spring.

I knew that. I just didn't realize P-T wasn't in the WT anymore. When did it get dropped?

WTF?!?!?!?! How did I miss that? I guess it's because the quality of the fields went downhill long enough ago that nothing changed there....

That plus because room needs to be made for offshore classics or tour, like the amazing Tour of China that'll kick off next week.
Not that it's such a good race, but it was generally interesting when part of the World Cup, and held before Lombardia.

That's the thing, I'm a massive fan. It's easily one of my ten favorite races of the year (P-R, LBL, MSR, RVV, GdL, P-T, Plouay, Philly, Het Nieuwsblad, and the Worlds, the monuments in order, the other five not. Also, that's races, not just classics. Not a big fan of tours). Nasty quick and narrow roads, weird form from riders at the end of the season, 10km of having no visual knowledge of where everyone else is, followed by 2km of straight flat road that, with or without team cars help, always seems to lead to at least someone realizing they are in a completely different spot than they thought.
If there isn't a serious move near the end, it's a stupid race. But most of the time there is, and when that happens, like today, it's fantastic.

De Vreese should've won... Marcato makes a weird move to the left and thats why he wins.

Silvestre doing really well in the Espoirs race. Hope he can confirm his talent next year, wherever he'll be riding.

I'm not sure whether Beijing will get an own thread, so for now...
It'll start tomorrow, or at least it is supposed to:

I seem to recall them riding in similar conditions last year so I'm sure that it will go ahead.
