Stage 11 Recap - Mont Cassel

Stage 11 features Mont Cassel otherwise known as Kasselberg 10 times, which contains cobbled sectors.



Peloton decided this stage to be the one for the breakaway, 14 man group had a 16 minutes lead halfway. Breakaway includes riders like Quintana, Benoot, Alaphilippe. Gilbert is the closest to GC, 13th with 45 minutes behind.



Froome is down! His INEOS teammates reacted quick to get him back to the peloton!

What's happening this time a puncture for Froome, his whole team is behind trying to catch the peloton, 2 minutes back. Meanwhile, Benoot attacked with 10k to go and he's looking to win the stage.

Tiesj Benoot for the win! Belgian was the strongest in the breakaway, increasing his gap in white jersey!



After a conservative work from LottoNL and INEOS, Froome is back to the peloton. Last kilometer and the group split in half, meaning Nibali got a 13-second time gap on Froome.

Results

Jungels and Benoot makes good ground in the standings. Points classification finally changes holder as Gilbert from the break got valueable points.

Stage 12 Recap / Paris - Tours

Stage 12 and its the second to last flat stage of the tour. A dirty road towards the end might shake the race.

The pace was really slow and a group of 6 with rouleurs attacked and had a 15 minute gap throughout the race.

Peloton picked up the pace last kilometers. Meanwhile, Nils Politt won the stage from the break. It was a pretty dull stage after all without any withdrawals.

Stage 13 Recap - Bagneres de Luchon

With 4 epic climbs lots of KoM points on offer. 13 is just a number some might say but it could be the unlucky one for some.

The early breakaway of 10 riders had a good lead in the stage. Breakaway included good climbers like Yates, Quintana and Martin.

INEOS very fast in the pace and even though with 5 members in the peloton, the number of riders left got down to 30 before the last two climbs.



Coming into the final climb break of four were in the lead: Gallopin, Alaphilippe, Dan Martin, A. Yates. Dan Martin was the strongest in the group and he solo'd his win across the finish line. Quiet stage for the Favourites group without attacks and gaps are more or less the same.

Results

Dan Martin new KoM jersey holder. Gilbert and Groenewegen out of time limit by 55 seconds.

Ollfardh: Trying too hard in the first climb, for the breakaway, got dropped very soon.

Tamijo: He definitely has a good chance for a top 5!

Stage 14 Recap - The Alps

A triple crown for today's stage with very hard downhills.

The Race

Early 15 man breakaway, including a mix of baroudeurs and climbers.
We've said goodbye to Stefan Küng before the TT stage tomorrow.

Coming to the last climb, 4 man from the breakaway (A.Yates, Landa, Benoot and Barguil) have a 9 minutes lead before Val Thorens.



Landa wins the stage from the breakaway.



Froome attacks but countered by Nibali, only Dumoulin can follow this pace.



But Nibali's last acceleration means he got a feisty lead coming to the final week. Lots of strugglers behind, 9 riders out of the time limit. KoM jersey changes lead after Yates' attack.
