Hi I´m in middle of tour of oman right before the mountain stage so why not make a little recap what happend in flat stages?
Here are my teammates in Oman:
Profile of 1st stage:
In first stage there were 5 guys in BOD but they get caught 15km before the finnish. We made a great lead out for Jose. I was first one to be in front and I think I did a good job but with 7km to go it was up to others.
But José just missed the podium and ended up 4th. Mathew Goss is the first winner in Oman.
Stage:
1 | Matthew Harley Goss | Orica GreenEDGE | 3h39'02 | 2 | Daniele Bennati | RadioShack-Nissan | s.t. | 3 | Matteo Pelucchi | Team Europcar | s.t. | 4 | José JoaquÃn Rojas Gil | Movistar Team | s.t. | 5 | Manuel Belletti | Ag2r La Mondiale | s.t. |
-------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Profile of stage 2 is little bit uphil at the end that could be good for José.
This stage was almost same as the one before 4 riders were in break and get caught 12km before the finnish. Because it was uphil at the end I was the last who lead-out José. But I started to sprint too early end I was burned 1.5 km before the uphil finnish so José didn´t had a chance.
He ended only 18th. Bazayev was unexpected winner he came ahead of BMC duo Hushovd and Gilbert.
-------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
3rd stage was easier than flat because to the half of the race it was downhill. I took it easy today because I started to save my self for the Mountain stage.
Breakaways in this years Oman are not a good choice cause this time they were caught 13km before the finnish. José found a wheel of Hushovd and it was good choice. But yet another time he ended 4th Thor 3rd Daniele Bennati 2nd and winner was Goss.
GC:
1 | Matthew Harley Goss | Orica GreenEDGE | 9h56'11 | 2 | Daniele Bennati | RadioShack-Nissan | + 20 | 3 | Thor Hushovd | BMC Racing Team | + 30 | 4 | Assan Bazayev | Astana Pro Team | s.t. | 5 | Jonas Aaen Jørgensen | Team Saxo Bank-Tinkoff Bank | + 38 |
-------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Stage 4:
Today it was a little bit different breakaway was caught on the last of the bigger hills but then 8 strong riders attacked.
They created a gap of 1 minute so we started to chase I was in the peloton saving my energy. With 3km to the finnish we caught them but José was badly placed. I was the only one who had enough energy so I bring him to the front of the pack than José started to sprint. He came 5th.
Stage:
1 | Thor Hushovd | BMC Racing Team | 4h06'48 | 2 | Daniele Bennati | RadioShack-Nissan | s.t. | 3 | Allan Howard Davis | Orica GreenEDGE | s.t. | 4 | Assan Bazayev | Astana Pro Team | s.t. | 5 | José JoaquÃn Rojas Gil | Movistar Team | s.t. |
GC:
1 | Matthew Harley Goss | Orica GreenEDGE | 14h02'59 | 2 | Daniele Bennati | RadioShack-Nissan | + 8 | 3 | Thor Hushovd | BMC Racing Team | + 10 | 4 | Assan Bazayev | Astana Pro Team | + 30 | 5 | Jonas Aaen Jørgensen | Team Saxo Bank-Tinkoff Bank | + 38 |
Points:
1 | Thor Hushovd | BMC Racing Team | 25 | 69 | 2 | Matthew Harley Goss | Orica GreenEDGE | 0 | 67 | 3 | Daniele Bennati | RadioShack-Nissan | 20 | 66 | 4 | Assan Bazayev | Astana Pro Team | 14 | 51 | 5 | Manuel Belletti | Ag2r La Mondiale | 7 | 41 | 6 | José JoaquÃn Rojas Gil | Movistar Team | 12 | 40 |
Tomorow I will report you stage where I will be the main character. Atleast I hope so.

Hey Rui, I was wondering what you can tell us about your doping ban that you recently returned from? Are you clean now?
And good luck on the mountain tomorrow!

Hi today we were riding the stage I was waiting for since I known I will ride in Oman.
But I have to say I´m not in great shape and in the morning I wasn´t feeling good at all.
Today 7 riders tried their luck and atacked.
Best climber of them is surely Rubiano Chavez.
They soon created a gap of 4minutes.
With 110 km to go it was even 6 minutes but than Orica started to do the pace.
Gap was slowly decreasing and with 20 km to go it was only 1 minute.
With 14 km left Hushovd and Bennati attacked. Weird.
But after 8km they get caught.
Then with 5km left and quater of the climb already been climbed
I knew I won´t do nothing my stomach hurt like a hell but I wanted to finnish atleast in top 20. I said to David Lopez Garcia to go on his own and he ended on a nice 8th place. After another 2km Jose Rujano was sure that he will win today. He was 1 minute in front of the pack and lead was still growing.
He came ahead of Kessiakof by 48 seconds and so he is the new GC leader.
I came 16th.
I will go to bed and tommorow Is the last stage in this race, thank god.
Here is a winner
Stage:
1 | José Humberto Rujano Guillén | Androni Giocattoli - Venezuela | 4h01'14 | 2 | Fredrik Carl Wilhelm Kessiakoff | Astana Pro Team | + 47 | 3 | Jonathan Hivert | Saur - Sojasun | + 59 | 4 | Yury Viktorovich Trofimov | Katusha Team | s.t. | 5 | Philippe Gilbert | BMC Racing Team | + 1'13 |
GC:
José Humberto Rujano Guillén | Androni Giocattoli - Venezuela | 18h04'43 | Fredrik Carl Wilhelm Kessiakoff | Astana Pro Team | + 55 | Matthew Harley Goss | Orica GreenEDGE | + 58 | Daniele Bennati | RadioShack-Nissan | + 1'06 | Thor Hushovd | BMC Racing Team | + 1'08 |
I have to go now my Stomach hurts like hell. I hope I will be able to finnish the race. Then I will answer all your questions.
Rui.

Hi now it´s after the final stage so I will tell you what happened.
Today´s profile:
I felt a little bit better today so I finnished the race.
Today was on profile KOM sprint in all tour of oman so anyone will win it will win the KOM jersey.
And because of that we sent Lopez to the break.
With 0.8 km before the sprint he gave his all and won it!
Lopez won our only Jersey here in Oman.
Breakeway got caught with 7km before the finish.
José found a wheel of Daniele Bennati and it turns out to be a good choice as Daniele won.
Mathew Goss came 2nd Davis 3rd and José ended 4th.
Rujano Wins GC!
2nd Mathew Goss
3rd Daniele Bennati
So that´s it from me I´ll see you in Paris.
Rui.

Well, it was a good race to build up form, anyway, Rojas came close to the podium, and he'll be looking to improve results over the season

Hi Guys it´s evening after the 3rd stage of Paris-Nice so let´s check what happend.
We came here with strong squad:
Stage 1 ITT
I started last from our team.
I was only 8th seconds behind the leader on the first time check.
But then started more difficult part with technical downhill and than flat to finnish.
I lost 29 seconds on the second part of the race.
I ended 40th.
Sylvian Chavanel won in his home country and with a big margin of 8 seconds to Tony Martin and 10 seconds to Peter Sagan.
Stage:
1 | Sylvain Chavanel | Omega Pharma-QuickStep | 12'21 | 2 | Tony Martin | Omega Pharma-QuickStep | + 8 | 3 | Peter Sagan | Liquigas-Cannondale | + 10 | 4 | Jens Voigt | RadioShack-Nissan | + 13 | 5 | Gustav Erik Larsson | Vacansoleil-DCM Pro Cycling Team | s.t. |
-------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Stage 2 was a stage for sprinters so and it also ended in a mass sprint.
We got blocked and José mananged only 11th place.
Peter Sagan take his 3rd win in the season and now is only 4 seconds behind Sylvian in GC.
Stage:
1 | Peter Sagan | Liquigas-Cannondale | 4h12'57 | 2 | Tyler Farrar | Garmin - Sharp | s.t. | 3 | Mark Cavendish | Sky ProCycling | s.t. | 4 | Tom Boonen | Omega Pharma-QuickStep | s.t. | 5 | Daniele Bennati | RadioShack-Nissan | s.t. |
-------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Stage 3 was for punchy sprinters so Sagan was the biggest favourite.
3 riders were today in BOD and get caught right before the final climb.
José found a wheel of Peter. Than Peter started to Sprint and was 10 km faster than everybody else. What a show of power.
He won by 7 meters. José ended 5th.
Stage:
1 | Peter Sagan | Liquigas-Cannondale | 4h39'32 | 2 | Daniele Bennati | RadioShack-Nissan | s.t. | 3 | Jonathan Hivert | Saur - Sojasun | s.t. | 4 | Simon Gerrans | Orica GreenEDGE | s.t. | 5 | José JoaquÃn Rojas Gil | Movistar Team | s.t. |
GC:
1 | Peter Sagan | Liquigas-Cannondale | 9h04'48 | 2 | Sylvain Chavanel | Omega Pharma-QuickStep | + 2 | 3 | Tony Martin | Omega Pharma-QuickStep | + 10 | 4 | Jens Voigt | RadioShack-Nissan | + 15 | 5 | Gustav Erik Larsson | Vacansoleil-DCM Pro Cycling Team | s.t. |
Points:
1 | Peter Sagan | Liquigas-Cannondale | 25 | 70 | 2 | Tom Boonen | Omega Pharma-QuickStep | 10 | 43 | 3 | Sylvain Chavanel | Omega Pharma-QuickStep | 15 | 40 | 4 | Daniele Bennati | RadioShack-Nissan | 22 | 38 | 5 | Tony Martin | Omega Pharma-QuickStep | 7 | 29 |
Tommorow is another flat stage with some hills before finnish.
Maybe we will try something with Visconti.
