There's this one 80s song I heard the other day, that has an extremely well known melody.
I don't know any of the words, though.
It's pure crap. Garbage. 80s synth pop that no one in their right minds should listen to. But I'm obsessive so I won't stop until I find out what that goddamned song is.
So I've been trudging through youtube for days, listening to literally hundreds of 80s pop hits playlists. I feel like my brain is bleeding and my hair wants to tear itself out. Pop music is soul-crushingly awful, but 80s even more so.
But I just can't stop myself until I find out the name of that goddamned song.
I don't think it's by anyone famous, either. Just a guy with a slightly female-ish voice singing, being "answered" during the chorus by a choir of men and lots of synthesizer in the background.
That's it. Quintessentially 80s. Which may be why I can't find it.
Damn it, how can it be such a well known (and very crappy) chorus melody, yet I can't find it no matter how many "One hit wonders" and "80s hits" playlists I go through?
It doesn't help that I don't know any of the lyrics.

I know A-ha, yes, and I love to terrorize norwegians by reminding them that that's how the world sees their music
Kind of like Sweden with ABBA and Europe.
But it's not A-ha. The style is similar, though.

I just had a flash "wait...that sounds like the singer from the band ________". And it was. That explains why I couldn't find it by searching a ton of "One hit wonders" and "80s hits" playlists....it's not from the 80s (even though it sounds more stereotypically 80s than anything else I've ever heard) and the band had a ton of hits
Just to be a d*** I'll leave you hanging now. Thanks for the tips
