In Germany, it's always the big two public broadcasters alternating every day.
That means high-quality coverage from 8 to 8, but on the other hand, that means it's paid by every citizen as well.

On paid tv in NZ we have like 3 channels which cover every single event from start to finish.

And I've heard that there wasn't any humor in the opening ceremony. The Danish broadcasting channels keep talking about it. I'm sure Putin will say that this was supposed to be the fun thing in the ceremony, if he watches Danish television.
