At least they're not important for the GC Pfft

Hi Cycleman123,

I am very into your story. Last couple of days I passed whole story and I am pretty amazed.
Go Fabio!

Smile

Cycleman123
Wow thanks a lot mate. I remember when I was new to the forum I did the same thing with another story, and I never thought it would happen to me. It's comments like that that make me want to keep going even more and provide great quality in this story. Thanks a tonne Wink

Another sprinting stage. Hopefully we can finally crack the Top 10.

The Race

KoM 1 - Cat 4
1. Wegmann

i1297.photobucket.com/albums/ag38/Abbiati123/Album%20For%20Albums/Fabio%20Melani%203/PCM0308_zpsa0d8edeb.jpg

With Wegmann brought back, the breakaway forms. Nuyens, Gilbert and Jungels is there again.

KoM 2 - Cat 4
1. Gilbert

Intermediate Sprint
1. Gilbert // 2. Nuyens // 3. Jungels

i1297.photobucket.com/albums/ag38/Abbiati123/Album%20For%20Albums/Fabio%20Melani%203/PCM0310_zps7968f6c0.jpg

We commit everyone to the train except Me and Robinson, and JPV gets us into a good position with 4km to go.

i1297.photobucket.com/albums/ag38/Abbiati123/Album%20For%20Albums/Fabio%20Melani%203/PCM0311_zps66f5892b.jpg

However, as fortune dictates for this team, we were blocked.

i1297.photobucket.com/albums/ag38/Abbiati123/Album%20For%20Albums/Fabio%20Melani%203/PCM0312_zps73236419.jpg

Goss takes the win with everyone in the train either being to tired or getting blocked.

i1297.photobucket.com/albums/ag38/Abbiati123/Album%20For%20Albums/Fabio%20Melani%203/PCM0313_zps028175a9.jpg

This is made clear when you realise that our best finisher was 4th from the back of the train. However, we did manage to crack the Top 10, Duque showing glimpses of his old self. Speaking of old though, he probably doesn't have much left in him as far as his career goes. It's not a good day for the team actually, but on paper it's alright. A 9th placed finish is better than what was expected from the press. Plus, we beat Greipel and Cavendish.

First of all let me apologise for lack of screens here. I f*cked up the start and was intending to quit. I just wanted to see how much I'd lose by Pfft In the end I was actually rather happy with the result so I kept it Wink

A hilly Team Time-Trial where tactics will be key.

The Race

I started at the front of the 'train'. We needed to manage energy very well here.

Well, forget that! By the first check everyone is already dead.

Soon, me and Grazhys are way ahead of the rest of the team.

It's an absolute shambles! I finished all alone with Virgilijus, with Valencia solo having 1km still to go, and the rest of the riders 1.7km out. Remember that the time (for the team, and for any rider who finishes ahead) is counted from when the 5th man crosses the line. So you're thinking, last by what? 3 minutes? 4? More? Nope! Not even close! Out of 22 teams we finish 17th (somehow), only losing 1'32". That is the weirdest thing I have ever seen, in anything, ever.

First Signings Announced

The team have been quick in the transfer market, signing up two new riders for seasons to come. The first is an amazing aquisition for the team, and will benefit us both on the road and off it. The next, is someone who is also a very good rider, but not one of extraordinary quality or renown. However, having him at the team will be a great boost for me personally. So, without further ado...

Spoiler
Thibaut Pinot

i1297.photobucket.com/albums/ag38/Abbiati123/Album%20For%20Albums/Riders/ThibautPinot_zps049cd3be.jpg

The Frenchman is only 24 years old but is already a household name for most cycling fans. Thibaut's skills on the mountains are sure to be very welcome by the team, and we can learn a lot from him. His signing even means that we may be in with a shot at a wildcard for next year's Tour de France and Paris-Nice. Thibaut will bring a lot to the team, and we can't wait to see him arrive at the team.

Spoiler
Jorge Martin Montenegro

i1297.photobucket.com/albums/ag38/Abbiati123/Album%20For%20Albums/Riders/JorgeMartinMontenegro_zps0093d915.jpg

Jorge is another very good mountain rider. Of course he lacks the skills of Pinot but he is certainly a good rider. However, the best thing (for me, anyway) about his signing is that I will have a fellow Argentinean on the team. Again I can't wait for him to arrive, and I look forward to being able to give you more transfer news soon.

Again the train was in a very good position - even better this time, but of course we were blocked.

A win for Cavendish, with Virgilijus getting a good 8th.

These sprint stages are really getting boring. Oh well, almost over Pfft

Does anyone know why it's always dark and rainy? Just bad luck?

The first week ends with another basic flat stage.

The break consists of Gilbert, Casar and Vandborg. They go through the first climb in that order.

The Belgian also wins the 2nd, and the order is the same once again at the sprint point.

Our train is again looking good. Hopefully no external faults this time.

Surely this is our day! With 4km left we easily have the best position.

Well, at least we didn't get blocked, but the leadouts from Duque and Pantano were absolutely terrible.

The Manx Missile takes another win while Jagoba and Virgilijus were 11th and 12th.

Ok guys there has been a break as you are no doubt aware, and this is because I have an error with PCM where I can only load last save game - which isn't this story. I think it requires a re-install. Just asking, when I do re-install I don't lose anything right?
