First of all, Jarlinson won a stage, the 20th, from a breakaway. Darwin got 25th on said stage.


Speaking of which, Darwin finished 14th in the GC. He dropped two places in the last 2 stages though.

A prologue just under 6km to start us off. Hopefully no big time gaps to begin.

I set off as the last on the team - which meant having a good understanding of the course already.


Into the final straight, and I was feeling normal, not good nor bad.


Not what I had hoped for. Provisional 71st, down by 26".

A sprint finish is definitely on the cards today.

A small break of just Marties and Keizer.


Just entering 10 kilometres we have a huge crash! Several big names are down, including Phillipe Gilbert!


Thankfully none of our riders are down, as we continue with the sprint preparation. Jarlinson takes the wheel of Knees from SKY.


But he drops back, and the sprinters are badly positioned.


It's a fantastic leadout from Pantano! He takes Leonardo to the very front with a phenomenal sprint from behind. Only down side is, he's tired out his sprinter.


Duque goes, but doesn't have the stamina. It's a win for SKY and Ben Swift. No Top 10 for Colombia.

A quiet day for me in the saddle - as expected.

The first real GC stage. I hope to stay with the leaders today.

5 riders tried their luck with the break.


The next attacks came with 60km to go, with Wellens (LTB) and Le Mevel (BSE) trying to get an early jump on the favourites.


They were brought back and things were quiet again until 35km left. Wellens again led the attacks, but this time had Geschke (ARG) in tow.


The break would win. With 6km to the finish line Moinard led the peloton by a massive 3 minutes. All of the break were still away.


Joaquim Rodriguez tried an attack 6.5km out. This forced us to react, and we started to pace a bit.


Moinard took the win for BMC.


Under Le Flamme Rouge, Purito was still ahead with Chris Froome. I was being led out.


The Brit was the best of the peloton, with me and Chaves 9th and 10th. A good day for us, but some time was lost to a couple of favourites at the end.

Maybe a good finish for our versatile sprinters, but maybe a reduced bunch sprint based on the pace of the peloton.

Again we have a 5 rider break.


WOW! Although there's no picture of them down, I can assure you that there was a 65 man crash with 16km to go! Big riders such as Meyer and Cancellara are on the tarmac.


And another one! With 4.2km to go, and Wiggins is one of the men down.


We are really, really far back for the sprint, but again Pantano is amazing, leading us to the front.


But also again, Duque's not. Bonnet takes the win ahead of Swift, with no Top 10 for Colombia.
